Use precision measuring instruments to ensure that parts meet specifications. Maintain and troubleshoot machines to ensure they are operating at optimum efficiency.\nEssential Functions\nSet up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC Machines to achieve first article.\nConsidered to be process expert and trainer.\nWork directly with programmer and engineers in planning and execution of insourcing projects. \nRead and interpret schematics, blueprints, and work instructions or MIPs proficiently. \nMaintain tooling while operating machines.\nDetermine specifications for inspection of work using precision measuring and gaging tools, performing required inspection before, during, and after machining.\nChange tooling and/or tooling holders to maintain machine settings to produce a quality product throughout production.\nOperate other equipment as required, both NC controlled and manual (if applicable).\nProperly and safely load and unload parts and raw material in CNC Machinery.\nPerform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required (i.e., deburring, etc.)\nPerform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance task on CNC Machinery.\nMeet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.\nPalletize material coming to machine from preceding operation, as required.\nMaintain appropriate Kanban records, levels, etc.\nRemove chips and shavings as needed.\nSolve minor problems and recognize bigger problems that require supervisor/manager assistance.\nVerify and record quality assurance measurements and document defects.\nMaintain and improve 5S standards in the cell.\nComply with company policies, ISO standards, and applicable laws and legislation.\nWork towards SQDC target metrics.\nSupport manufacturing engineers as directed in daily production, projects, and special assignments.\nPerform other duties as assigned. \n Qualifications\nHigh school diploma, GED, Technical School certificate, or related work experience required.\nThree (3) to five (5) years prior successful experience operating, setting up, and troubleshooting CNC Machines.\nMust have extensive experience with one or more of the following CNC machines: Mazak, Haas, DMG Mori, Mori Seiki, and/or Okuma.\nMust be able to read and utilize the following measuring instruments: 6 to 12” scale, vernier calipers, comparator, pin gauge, thread gauges, and micrometer. \nMust be able to read blueprints, bills of materials, and part specifications. \nMust understand and have the ability to perform tool wear offsets.\nMust have experience machining one or more of the following materials: nickel-based stainless-steel alloys (Inconel, Monel, etc.), Cooper, Aluminum, and/or Titanium.\nAbility to prioritize work and work with minimal supervision. \nMust be able to read, write, and perform simple to moderate mathematical calculations. \nSkill and ability to operate machines precisely with high degree of attention to make quality products.\nAbility to perform job in safe manner. \nMust be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and use these skills to solve problems.\nMust be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, complete forms with accurate information.\nMust be able to properly identify, count, and maintain required inventory.\nMust be able to work as a cooperative and contributing member of the Team. \n\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
