In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing embedded firmware for advanced spray, dispensing, coating, and finishing solutions. The ideal candidate utilizes problem solving abilities and collaboration with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, manufacturing, and sales to develop industry leading electronic control systems firmware. You will play a key role in transforming concepts and user requirements into commercially viable solutions.\nEssential Functions\nWriting, designing, and coding firmware for embedded systems to ensure optimal functionality and performance.\nWork with microcontrollers, drivers and other peripherals, and write efficient low-level code.\nDevelop software test plans, conduct testing and write automated test scripts.\nEnsure firmware quality by analyzing and optimizing code and conducting code reviews.\nDocument software designs and implementation details and write technical documentation for users and other developers.\nCollaborating with product design engineers to define system requirements and specifications.\nDebugging and troubleshooting firmware issues to enhance system reliability and efficiency.\nConducting code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.\nManaging firmware version control and release processes to ensure timely updates and deployments.\nCoordinating with cross-functional teams to integrate firmware with hardware and software components.\nAnalyzing performance metrics and user feedback to refine and enhance firmware features.\nStaying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to innovate firmware solutions.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field\nProficiency in programming languages like C and C++, as well as assembly language.\nKnowledge of hardware design and microprocessors. \nStrong experience with firmware design and development for embedded systems.\nStrong understanding of hardware-software interaction and debugging tools and methodologies, including JTAG and logic analyzers.\nFamiliarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and development environments.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.\nStrong communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.\nAbility to manage projects and meet deadlines under pressure.\nAbility to work independently or as a team.\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
