This role focuses on achieving and maintaining compliance with Factory Mutual (FM), ATEX, and CE certification standards and works cross-functionally with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and external certification bodies to support successful product launches and lifecycle compliance.\nWhy This Role Matters Right Now: Binks has next-generation products in active development right now. None of them ship into new markets without regulatory sign-off under standards like FM, ATEX, and CE - you’d be the one clearing that path, with direct, visible influence over what gets built, how it’s tested, and where in the world it launches next.\nEssential Functions\nServe as the regulatory and certification subject matter expert for Factory Mutual (FM), ATEX, and CE requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.\nPartner with product development, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to integrate regulatory requirements into product designs from concept through release.\nInterpret applicable standards, directives, and codes (e.g., ATEX Directive, CE marking requirements, FM Approval Standards) and translate them into actionable design and testing requirements.\nDevelop and maintain regulatory compliance plans, certification strategies, and risk assessments for new and modified products.\nAct as the primary technical interface with external certification bodies, notified bodies, and test laboratories.\nDocumentation Preparation: Prepare and submit regulatory documentation to \nrelevant authorities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.\nCross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with team in research & development, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain to integrate compliance measures early in the new product development process.\nRegulatory Reviews: Conduct regulatory reviews and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and recommend solutions.\nMonitoring Regulations: Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry standards,advising the organization on necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.\nTraining and Guidance: Provide training to staff on regulatory requirements and best practices, fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.\nAudit Participation: Facilitate regulatory inspections and audits, ensuring that all processes adhere to established standards.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required\n3 to 5 years of experience in a regulatory role for engineered products or systems, with a strong understanding of industry regulations and standards.\nWorking knowledge of Factory Mutual (FM), ATEX, and CE certification processes and requirements.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills.\nProficiency in regulatory software tools and electronic submission processes.\nDetail-oriented with strong technical writing skills\nWillingness to travel occasionally, including international travel if required.\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
