You want to learn more about the design process, and how a team works together to get projects done.\nBinnie is looking for Civil Engineering Assistants to join our Development Group in our Langley and Burnaby office, which provides professional civil engineering services for local municipalities and private developers alike. Typical projects include road and utility improvements and replacements, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control for major residential, commercial, and industrial developments.\nThe position will be for the January to April 2027 work term. There may be an opportunity to extend the work term to August 2027 depending on project requirements.\nYou will be working with our experienced Project Managers, Designers, and Engineers on interesting drafting, design, and field assignments. You will be a member of our diverse team in a challenging role that offers great mentorship opportunities.\nYOUR ROLE:\nModifying basic design drawings in AutoCAD and Civil 3D\nPlotting, assembling, and delivering drawing submission packages.\nPreparing project documentation including hard copy and electronic file transfers\nMaintaining file naming and layer management conventions set by Binnie\nCompleting field assignments as required by Project Managers\nCompleting quality control procedures\nPreparing and updated as-constructed field record drawings\nWHAT YOU BRING:\nPrevious work experience in a civil engineering environment\nPrevious exposure to AutoCAD and Civil 3D\nCurrently completing Degree in Civil Engineering\nValid Driver’s License and personal vehicle for site visits\nWilling to work outdoors on-site as required\nAbility to consistently produce accurate, high-quality work\nExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment\nABOUT BINNIE:\nWe are the people behind the infrastructure you use every day.
