From concept planning through construction, our team delivers integrated project management, engineering, and construction support services for complex ports, heavy industrial, and mining projects. Our work includes underground utilities, industrial wastewater and pumping systems, mechanical piping and distribution, dust mitigation systems, road and rail infrastructure, and other critical site infrastructure that supports safe, efficient, and resilient operations.\nThis is a full-time position based out of anyone of our BC or Alberta offices working with our friendly and supportive team of experienced Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers on a wide range of port and industrial projects. The role offers a hybrid working environment, balancing in-office collaboration with flexible work options.\nYou are an experienced engineer, project manager, or people leader with a proven track record delivering complex infrastructure projects. You bring strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to quality and client service. You are also a relationship builder who can develop and maintain trusted client partnerships, identify new opportunities, and contribute to the growth of Binnie's Ports & Industrial Division.\nIn this role, you will lead multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery, providing technical oversight, project leadership, and strategic guidance. You will work closely with Engineers, Project Managers, designers, technologists, inspectors, clients, and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and performance. You will also collaborate with business and technical leaders on resource planning, proposal development, client engagement, and strategic growth initiatives. A key aspect of the role is mentoring and developing technical staff while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.\nYOUR ROLE:\nLead and manage multidisciplinary teams in the planning, design, and delivery of ports, terminals, industrial, and mining infrastructure projects.\nProvide technical leadership and engineering oversight from concept development through detailed design, construction documentation, and construction support.\nServe as the key technical interface between civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and other engineering disciplines to ensure designs are coordinated, integrated, and aligned across the full project scope.\nOversee project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with client and organizational objectives.\nDirect the preparation and review of technical deliverables, including reports, drawings, specifications, calculations, and contract documents.\nDevelop practical and innovative solutions to address technical, operational, and constructability challenges.\nEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, safety requirements, and Binnie’s Quality Management Program.\nSupport Project Managers with project planning, resource management, scope definition, scheduling, and fee proposal development.\nMentor, coach, and develop engineers and technical staff, fostering collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.\nLeverage existing client relationships and proactively develop new client connections and opportunities\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with new clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, Indigenous partners, and other stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.\nParticipate in business development activities, including client engagement, strategic pursuits, proposal preparation, industry involvement, and identification of new opportunities.\nContribute to the growth and strategic direction of the Ports & Industrial Division and the broader Professional Services Group.\nWHAT YOU BRING:\nMinimum 10+ years of progressive experience delivering ports, terminals, industrial, mining, and infrastructure projects, including design, project delivery, and client management.\nBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline; P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration is preferred.\nDemonstrated experience acting as Engineer of Record, Design Lead, Technical Lead, or Project Manager on complex multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.\nProven experience leading projects through all phases, from concept development and detailed design to construction support and project closeout.\nStrong understanding of industrial facilities, terminal operations, bulk material handling systems, site development, transportation interfaces, and supporting infrastructure.\nExperience with project planning, scope development, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, financial management, and stakeholder coordination.\nProficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other relevant engineering design and analysis software.\nProven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, identify opportunities, secure new work, and support business growth initiatives.\nExperience leading proposal development, client presentations, strategic pursuits, and other business development activities.\nStrong leadership, communication, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor technical staff.\nDemonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical and project outcomes while exercising sound professional judgment and working with a high degree of independence.\nExperience working with port authorities, terminal operators, industrial clients, mining companies, transportation agencies, or government organizations is considered an asset.\nFamiliarity with applicable provincial and federal regulatory requirements is considered an asset.\nABOUT BINNIE:\nWe are the people behind the infrastructure you use every day.
