In this role, you'll have the opportunity to take significant ownership of technical projects that will drive the success of the overall business. Strong candidates bring deep product and technical acumen, combined with the ability to move fast.\nLOCATION\nBinti is headquartered in San Francisco, California. Much of our team is local to the San Francisco Bay Area and works via a hybrid setup - in-person from the office on Monday & Thursday and remote otherwise. Satellite offices, like Seattle, Washington, set their own in-office days and hybrid policies, but in general employees are encouraged to join the leadership team on the days when they will be in the office for collaboration and team cohesion.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO\nLead architecture discussions during feature development to ensure that projects are built in a sound, reliable, performant way\n\nImprove user experiences that software engineers and engineering teams depend on during their day-to-day workflow\n\nFull Stack coding, 60% back end and 40% front end\n\nMentor other engineers on best practices for software engineering\n\nOptimize the performance of components for both latency and throughput\n\nMonitor all of the above in a scalable way\n\nGuide incident response and vulnerability remediation efforts\n\nCollaborate with Product Management to scope and execute product features while maintaining Binti’s values.\n\nFocus on the longevity of the codebase - notice and advocate for patterns that allow code to be flexible, scalable, and approachable to other engineers\n\nHelp our team move quickly and learn while maintaining a welcoming and supportive culture\n\nPush our product so it continues to be a beautiful, yet intuitive and accessible interface for users from all walks of life\n\nChampion security and privacy, including looking for ways to make it easier to safeguard HIPAA compliance for sensitive data and incorporate security best practices\n\nSAMPLE PROJECTS\nSpearhead development of new product areas like child intake and community crisis response\n\nEvolve configurable platform features like scheduling or application requirements into a reusable, performant layer that works for different workflows across the country\n\nArchitect engineering design for storing of configurable relationships between humans, beyond biological relationships\n\nTransfer applications between agencies, accounting for variable workflow setups and agency-configured permissions\n\nWHO YOU ARE\nExperience leading and coordinating large infrastructural and architectural projects and rollouts\n\nComfort with a startup mindset, taking initiative, and comfort with MVP\n\nKnowledge and ability to effectively project manage\n\nExcitement to leverage modern tools and AI to drive greater efficiency and higher quality output\n\nAbility to architect, build and maintain configurable systems that unlock better workflows in foster care\n\nCan collaborate with cross-functional partners in product, technical account management, policy, and more\n\nDemonstrated ability to work across engineering teams on projects that elevate not just our own systems and designs, but those of other teams as well\n\nPassion for delivering products end-to-end, from ideation through planning and scoping to implementation\n\nExcitement to jump into our architecture and write foundational and expansive features.
