Perform a variety of complicated tasks as needed. Ensure compliance to procedures. Maintain ongoing communications with suppliers and internal customers.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nBuyer\nPurchase raw materials, lab supplies, scientific equipment and services, office/business supplies based on planned usage and inventory requirements.\nAbility to work very well under pressure, excellent written / verbal communication skills and high standard of accuracy.\nIdentifies, evaluates, and negotiates with suppliers that offers competitive advantage to eh organization.\nEvaluates vendor reliability; develops new supply sources as required.\nCoordinates purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory and supplies at approved and agreed planned levels.\nCoordinate with internal team and vendors on expediting orders as necessary to ensure timely delivery. Identify actual and potential delivery issues and disseminate information to internal customers. Coordinate the disposition of defective or unacceptable goods and make appropriate corrective measures.\nWork closely with stakeholders to ensure objectives and key requirements are understood and aligned with Purchasing strategies. \nActively pursues cost savings opportunities and reports PPV to costing.\nMonitor inventory of raw materials by utilizing the min/max, re-order, and other relative reports on regular cadence. Updating as necessary to ensure approved inventory levels.\nBPO processing and management.\nWorks with planning to forecast demand using multiple metrics, including finished goods, forecasts, and consumption rate history to determine appropriate inventory levels of raw materials.\nWorks closely with Project Managers and assists with acquiring materials for new customers.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:\nAble to comply with policies, procedures and objectives, and safety standards.\nSelf-starter able to work with minimal supervision.\nStrong attention to detail, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.\nThe ability to multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment and work well as part of a team.\nMust be able to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders\nIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Skills, most critically Excel.\nKnowledge or experience of FDA Quality System Requirements, cGMP and ISO Standards.\nExperience in reagents, chemicals and related laboratory products purchasing.\nKnowledge of different types of Units of Measures and its conversions\nMust be able to communicate with all levels of the organization. \nEffective negotiation skills. \nAbility to analyze trends and statistical data and make appropriate decisions and recommendations.\nKnowledge of the metric measurement and good mathematical ability\nDirect to manufacturer, OEM and custom product purchasing experience as well as Chemical and Biologicals, printed materials, such as boxes, labels, inserts, plastics and glass materials.\nMinimum Job Requirements: Minimum 2-5 years purchasing experience. AA degree or some college preferred.
