Data Management Specialist is responsible for GxP-compliant processing of data within the Sample Management group.\nEssential Responsibilities\nGenerates and maintains records in a GxP-compliant manner\nBuilds study sample metadata in LIMS\nPrepares sample manifest files for import into electronic sample management systems (eSMS)\nResolves discrepancies and updates electronic information\nEnsures data integrity and traceability\nDevelops/validates SM software solutions\nCollects and presents metrics data\nParticipates in audits/inspections as appropriate\nProvides information for QAU, client, or regulatory agency audit reports as needed\nTrains new Sample Management Specialists\nAssists with drafting Sample Management SOPs\nRecommends/enacts process improvements\nMay train new Data Management Specialists as needed\nMay receive samples as needed:\nReceives shipments into Sample Management\nInitiates sample chain-of-custody\nProvides timely notification of sample receipt to client/BPM\nMay ship samples to domestic or international destinations as needed\nMay accession samples as needed:\nAccessions samples into LIMS\nImports electronic sample metadata into eSMS\nResolves discrepancies, with responsibility for investigating and correcting sample anomalies\nManages pre- and post-test sample storage\nPulls samples for testing per schedule/request\nChecks out pre-test samples and checks in post-test samples\nFollows BAL SOPs\nMinimum Preferred Qualifications: Education/Experience\nHigh School diploma and not less than eight (8) years’ experience in sample management in a biotech or pharmaceutical GxP-regulated environment\nMinimum Preferred Qualifications: Skills\nWorking knowledge of GxP regulations\nAbility to work in a fast-paced team environment where multiple concurrent projects must be completed in a timely manner\nAbility to take direction well and multi-task\nAcute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills\nExcellent oral and written communication skills\nProficiency in MS Excel and Word\nProficiency in LIMS and Quality Management software packages\nPreferred Credentials\nAssociate degree in biological science or related field and not less than six (6) years’ experience in sample management in a biotech or pharmaceutical GxP-regulated environment\nBachelor’s degree in biological science or related field and not less than four (4) years’ experience in sample management in a biotech or pharmaceutical GxP-regulated environment\nSupervision Received\nInfrequent supervision and instructions\nFrequently exercises discretionary authority\nPosition Type and Expected Hours of Work\nThis is a full-time, on-site position\nSome flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours as published in the BioAgilytix Employee Handbook\nOccasional weekend, holiday, and evening work
