For more information, please visit our website at www.biocryst.com or follow us on LinkedIn and Instagram.\nJOB SUMMARY:\nThe Contract Manager will serve as a primary point of contact for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of company agreements, including confidentiality, consulting, services, healthcare professional, clinical trial, and other commercial agreements. Working closely with Legal Department counsel and business stakeholders, the Contract Manager will manage contracting matters from intake through execution, identify and escalate material legal and business risks, and support the development of contract templates, playbooks, processes, and systems. The role will also provide contract-related, transactional, and operational support to the Legal Department, including the Chief Legal Officer. The successful candidate will bring strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, global organization. The successful candidate will demonstrate intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to novel contracting and industry issues. #LI-REMOTE\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDraft, review and negotiate contracts across all areas of the company, including but not limited to, non-disclosure, consulting, service, software-as-a-service (SaaS), technology, HCP, and clinical trial agreements.\nManage and support clinical study contracting from intake through execution, including coordination with Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, CROs, study sites, and other internal and external stakeholders.\nFacilitate internal contract approval and stakeholder negotiation to resolve business and legal issues and assist in disputes (escalating complex legal and factual issues to the appropriate internal parties).\nPartner with business owners to identify, track, and communicate key contractual obligations and practical guidance to business partners, including milestones, deliverables, renewal and termination dates, invoicing requirements, and other commitments.\nDraft and update appropriate templates, develop contract management processes, investigate and streamline efficiencies to enhance contract management process, and work with business units to develop contract negotiation strategies, resolve contract issues, and best practices to support the organization.\nEnsure consistency of contract terms with company policies, goals, and best practices to enhance the contracts review processes.\nConduct legal and contract-related research and prepare analyses and recommendations to support the CLO, Legal Department counsel, and internal business clients.\nPrepare contract summaries to ensure proper interpretation of contracts to cross functional teams within the organization.\nAssist in the development, implementation, design, and launch of all law department systems and processes.\nOther duties as assigned.\nEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required. Juris Doctor degree.\nPosition requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience negotiating and administering commercial and clinical research contracts, including direct experience with clinical trial site agreements and other study-related contracts.\nAbility to identify legal, commercial, operational, and compliance issues in contracts and escalate matters appropriately.\nProven negotiation abilities and business acumen evidenced by experience in a related professional role.\nCustomer-centric and solutions-oriented approach in supporting both external and internal clients while protecting the best interest of the company.\nExperience in a global business environment.\nAbility to deliver strong results under tight deadlines and with a high degree of accuracy.\nStrong oral and written communication skills.\nExcellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects at once.\nAbility to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.\nTeam player capable of leading and participating within cross-functional project teams.\nThe statements in this position description are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
