This is a writing- and production-intensive role responsible for developing, producing, and distributing compelling content that advances the company's reputation, corporate narrative, strategic priorities, business milestones, culture, and employee engagement initiatives across internal and external audiences.\nWorking closely with Corporate Communications colleagues and cross-functional partners, this individual translates complex business, scientific, and organizational information into clear, engaging communications for internal and external audiences. Responsibilities include corporate storytelling, social media, internal and executive communications, digital content, media relations support, and content production across written, visual, and video formats. The Corporate Communications Content Manager is a versatile communicator, content producer, and project manager who manages multiple initiatives simultaneously while ensuring consistency in messaging, voice, tone, and brand standards. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with strong execution skills and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nContent Development & Corporate Storytelling\nDevelop and produce content supporting corporate priorities, business milestones, scientific advancements, employee engagement, and corporate reputation objectives. \nTranslate complex business, scientific, and organizational information into compelling, audience-appropriate communications. \nCreate and edit a variety of communications materials, including emails, intranet content, newsletters, executive communications, presentations, event communications, social media content, and other corporate communications assets. \nEnsure consistency of messaging, voice, tone, and brand standards across all communications channels. \nSocial Media Strategy & Content Management\nLead BioCryst's corporate social media program, including strategy, editorial planning, content creation, publishing, community management, paid promotion, and analytics. \nDevelop and execute social media campaigns that support corporate communications objectives, thought leadership, and company milestones. \nMonitor social media trends, conversations, risks, and opportunities to inform strategy and content development. \nAnalyze performance metrics and industry benchmarks to optimize audience engagement and content effectiveness. \nInternal Communications & Employee Engagement\nLead content development and publishing for internal communications channels, including email, intranet, newsletters, and events. \nManage Internal Communications intake requests, timelines, approvals, and project status. \nSupport employee engagement initiatives through strategic communications planning and content creation. \nMedia Relations & Corporate Communications\nSupport media relations activities related to company milestones, announcements, scientific developments, and strategic initiatives. \nMonitor media coverage and develop reports, coverage summaries, and leadership updates. \nEnsure alignment across external communications, internal messaging, and the corporate narrative. \nProject Management & Operations\nManage communications projects from concept through execution, partnering with stakeholders across the organization. \nCoordinate with external agencies and vendors to develop communications materials and content assets. \nManage vendor budgets, statements of work, invoices, and related administrative processes, as appropriate. \nSupport MLR/PRC review processes, as needed. \nProvide communications support for company meetings, employee events, leadership engagements, and other corporate activities. \nPerform other duties as assigned.\nEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field required. \nMinimum five years’ experience in pharma/biotech or life sciences corporate communications (in-house or agency), including familiarity with U.S. social media regulatory considerations. \nDemonstrated success creating content across multiple channels, including executive communications, employee communications, social media, digital content, presentations, newsletters, and corporate storytelling. \nExceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and content development skills with the ability to simplify complex scientific and business topics. \nExperience managing corporate social media channels, editorial calendars, content creation, and native platform campaigns. \nExperience designing, implementing, and analyzing paid social media campaigns. \nExperience supporting internal communications and employee engagement initiatives. \nStrong understanding of corporate reputation management, brand positioning, messaging, and communications best practices. \nExperience supporting media relations, media monitoring, and coverage reporting preferred. \nExperience collaborating with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, agencies, and vendors. \nStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently. \nAbility to build relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization. \nUp to 20% domestic travel. \nThis role is primarily remote, with regular in-office collaboration required at our Boston, MA or Durham, NC location several days each week.\nThe statements in this position description are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
