Our paid, three-month Returnship program is designed for experienced professionals who have been out of the workforce for at least two years and are looking to restart their careers.\n\nPosition Summary:\n\nBioFire Defense Legal Returner provides support to the VP of Legal Affairs on a wide range of legal matters to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. This role will analyze laws and regulations, help update corporate policies, and draft and review contracts involving all aspects of the company. \n\nPrincipal Job Duties and Responsibilities:\nPerform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Defense’s Quality System.\nDraft and review a variety of contracts, including but not limited to non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), material transfer agreements (MTAs), sales agreements, and supplier agreements. \nDepending on the employee’s experience, this role may involve advising on regulatory compliance, providing support to Human Resources, assisting with trade compliance laws and regulations, and/or contracting with the US Government.\n\nTraining and Education: \nJD and bar admission required\n\nExperience: \nMinimum of four years of legal experience. \nMinimum of two years away from the workforce.\nWhile a wide variety of legal backgrounds will be considered, experience in the biotechnology, medical device, or life sciences industry is preferred. \nExperience with US Government contracting, regulatory compliance, or trade compliance is a plus.\n\nSkills: \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong contract drafting skills.\nAbility to interact and be productive while working with various groups and personalities.\nHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive matters.\nCollaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and build relationships with internal and external
