Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.\nLabcorp is seeking aBioinformatics Intern to join our Precision Medicine/Genomics Team in Geneva.\nWork Schedule:\nMonday-Friday.\n40hrs per week (with flexibility to consider an 80% working schedule)\nJob Responsibilities:\nAnalyse and interpret whole-genome sequencing (WGS) and other genomic datasets to support research and development initiatives.\nEvaluate assay performance by assessing sequencing quality, coverage, callability, and variant detections across clinically relevant genomic regions.\nDevelop data visualizations, reports, and presentations that communicate findings to scientific and cross-functional stakeholders.\nSupport the development and documentation of reproducible bioinformatics workflows, scripts, and analytical methods.\nAssist in the evaluation of emerging genomic analysis approaches, including pangenome-based methods and other innovative technologies.\nCollaborate with bioinformatics scientists and multidisciplinary teams to contribute to projects supporting assay development, quality monitoring, and clinical genomics operations.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nCurrent enrolment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology or Genomics or Computer Science or Data Science or Statistics or Biology or Genetics or related scientific discipline\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCurrent enrolment in a Master’s degree program\nAdditional Job Standards:\nYou must be a student and be eligible for an internship agreement with a third party\nFluency in English\nDemonstrated scientific curiosity, eagerness, and willingness to learn new technologies and analytical approaches\nFamiliarity with sequencing\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures\nEffective written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences\nAbout the Team:\nThe Precision Medicine Bioinformatics team applies genomics, computational biology, and data science to gain insights from complex biological data. Working closely with our pharmaceutical sponsors and internal scientific teams, we support programs across the product development lifecycle, from exploratory research and technology evaluation through clinical studies and companion diagnostic (CDx) development. Our projects include large-scale genomic data analysis, novel method development, assay development and validation, and the application of advanced bioinformatics approaches to real-world scientific and clinical challenges.
