Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.\nLabCorp is seeking a Lead Clinical Laboratory Professional to join our team UAB St. Vincent’s East, Birmingham, AL.\nWork Schedule: 2nd Shift\nJob Responsibilities:\nAssist the supervisor with the day to day operations of the Hematology /Coagulation area of the Core Lab\n\nSend daily, weekly and monthly productions reports to management\n\nAssist with the training of new hires and the development of current employees\n\nKeep supervisor informed of group progress, problems, employee performance and any significant factors affecting assigned responsibilities\n\nDetermine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria\n\nPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs\n\nMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality\n\nPrepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls\n\nReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care\n\nPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures\n\nIdentify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary\n\nAssist with processing of specimens when needed\n\nMaintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nAssociate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology\n\n2 years or more of experience as a Technician\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree\n\nASCP and/or AMT Certifications\n\n1 years or more of experience supervising or leading a team\n\nAdditional Job Standards:\nIn lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement\n\nUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures\n\nProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office\n\nStrong communication skills; both written and verbal\n\nHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills\n\nComfortability making decisions in a changing environment\n\nAbility to handle the physical requirements of the position\n\nAble to pass a standardized color blindness test\n\nAre you an experienced clinical laboratory professional looking for leadership opportunity?
