This role provides valuable exposure to the life sciences industry and the Canadian Medical Affairs function, while contributing to initiatives that support scientific strategy, compliant execution, scientific exchange, and operational excellence.\nThrough mentorship, hands-on project experience, and meaningful contributions, the successful candidate will develop scientific, analytical, project management, and business skills. The internship offers exposure to key areas of Medical Affairs, including scientific strategy, evidence generation, field medical activities, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration, while providing insight into how Medical Affairs supports patients, healthcare professionals, and internal stakeholders.\nResponsibilities:\nSupport Medical Affairs projects by coordinating timelines, tracking action items, and assisting with project documentation. \nConduct literature searches and summarize scientific publications, clinical data, and medical insights to support team initiatives. \nAssist in the development and review of presentations, medical education materials, trackers, and internal resources. \nSupport planning and execution of medical congresses, advisory boards, and educational events, including logistics coordination and post-event follow-up. \nHelp organize and maintain documentation, records, and project trackers in accordance with company policies and compliance requirements. \nAssist with contract and stakeholder engagement tracking, ensuring information is accurately recorded and maintained. \nSupport evidence-generation and field medical activities through data organization, insight capture, and preparation of summary reports. \nUpdate SharePoint pages, team resources, and process documentation to improve knowledge sharing and operational efficiency. \nAssist in developing dashboards, reports, and other digital tools that help communicate key Medical Affairs insights and activities. \nCollaborate with the Medical team and cross-functional partners, including but not limited to Commercial, Market Access, Patient Advocacy, Regulatory, Compliance and other internal partners as appropriate. \nParticipate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on scientific developments, healthcare trends, and Medical Affairs priorities. \nSupport the use of digital and AI-enabled tools to improve processes, streamline workflows, and enhance team productivity. \nEnsure all activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. \nPerform company business in compliance with relevant regulations, company policies, and procedures.\nAll other duties are required. \nQualifications\nEducation\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, or related discipline. \nStrong interest in Medical Affairs, biotechnology, clinical research, healthcare strategy, and scientific communications. \nLanguage(s)\nFluent in English, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally. \nSkills\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills. \nAbility to interpret and communicate complex scientific information clearly and effectively. \nProficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint. \nExperience with data visualization, digital tools, or AI applications is considered an asset. \nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams. \nDetail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. \nAbility to work across multiple digital platforms and early adoption of new systems/applications. \nAdditional Information\nThe expected compensation for this role is: $58,000 CAD/year\nAnticipated start date is January 2027\nJob Level: InternshipWhy Biogen?\nWe are a global team with a commitment to excellence, and a pioneering spirit.
