Traditional Swiss screw machining capability is also available for rapid prototyping and production.\nIn addition, Biomerics utilizes 5 axis milling machines capable of producing complex finished components, while holding extremely tight tolerances.\nJob Description:\nBiomerics has an immediate opening for an mechanical engineer at our facility in Monroe, CT. Working in a team environment, this individual will help design, build, program, validate, and document automated manufacturing equipment to meet customer requirements.\nJob Responsibilities:\nBe the key resource for mechanical designs of tooling, fixtures and custom capital equipment\nCommunicate internally and with customers regarding program objectives, input, and output requirements.\nWork closely with controls engineers to integrate mechanical designs with controls equipment.\nOversee the entire lifecycle of the machine design process, from planning and design to testing and implementation\nAnalyze the mechanical design and refine it as per the requirement\nDesign and develop mechanical systems, keeping in mind the budget, timelines and other essential resources\nReport to Management and team members regarding the status of each project\nPerform regular tests and experiments to determine how to better improve a component\nUse CAD and 3D CAD programs to plan the mechanical design projects\nTroubleshoot problems and devise solutions to resolve them\nSpecify mechanical components such as air cylinders, solenoids, fixturing components\nCreates design documentation for physical items such as holding tools, gripping mechanisms, transport mechanics\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering\nPrior experience (>5yr) working as a mechanical design engineer or machine designer\nExperience working with CAD tools such as Solidworks (Preferred), Creo and AutoCad\nKnowledge in dealing with engineering drawings and 3D modelling\nPreferred skills and qualifications\nMaster’s degree in mechanical engineering\nSound knowledge of GD&T\nStrong verbal, written and communications skills\nUnderstanding of control equipment; actuators, motors, pneumatics\nBenefits: Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation Days, Paid Holidays, 401k\n Please, No Recruitment Agency calls or emails (we are not using recruitment services for this, or any other role posted).\nBiomerics does not accept non-solicited resumes or candidate submittals from search/recruiting agencies not already on Biomerics approved agency list.
