This role partners closely with application owners, developers, business analysts, project managers, infrastructure teams, and end users to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation.\nThe Technical Writer ensures consistency, usability, and compliance of documentation while supporting software implementations, enhancements, training initiatives, and operational excellence across the IS portfolio.\nPrimary Duties\nCreate, edit, publish, and maintain technical documentation for enterprise applications, software solutions, integrations, and IT services.\n\nDevelop end-user guides, administrator manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, knowledge base articles, and process documentation.\n\nCollaborate with IS teams, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to gather technical information and documentation requirements.\n\nTranslate complex technical concepts into clear and concise language appropriate for technical and non-technical audiences.\n\nSupport software implementation projects by producing documentation for new systems, system enhancements, upgrades, and releases.\n\nMaintain documentation standards, templates, style guides, and governance processes across the IS organization.\n\nCreate process flow diagrams, workflow documentation, system configurations, and application support materials.\n\nSupport change management and user adoption initiatives through communication and training materials.\n\nReview existing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational standards.\n\nManage documentation repositories and ensure version control and document lifecycle management practices are followed.\n\nWork with Service Management teams to develop and maintain support knowledge articles and troubleshooting documentation.\n\nParticipate in testing and validation activities to ensure documentation accurately reflects system functionality and business processes.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve documentation quality, accessibility, and user experience.\n\nEnsure the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with corporate, regulatory, and security requirements.\n\nPerform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nRequired Education, Training and Experience\nBachelor degree required in Technical Writing, Information Systems, Computer Science, Communications, English, or Journalism\n2+ years of technical writing experience within Information Technology, Information Systems, software development, or enterprise application environments, including documenting software applications, business processes, and technical systems; collaborating with developers, analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders; and supporting software implementations, system enhancements, and digital transformation initiatives.\nPreferred Education, Training and Experience\nTechnical Writing certification or related professional credential.\nExperience in a regulated industry such as healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, manufacturing, or pharmaceuticals.\nFamiliarity with software validation, quality systems, and compliance documentation.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nConsistently upholds and reflects the core ethical principles and values that bioMérieux promotes.\nWritten Communications - including the ability to communicate technical data in written form\nOrganizing work and resources efficiently to ensure smooth operations\nDriving continuous improvement by evaluating processes and implementing necessary changes\nAbility to cooperate with others at all levels including leadership\nTechnical learning aptitude to quickly understand and acquire new technical knowledge and skills.\nSkilled in MS Office tools to include but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel\nAdvanced: demonstrates deep knowledge; manages complex tasks and integrates multiple tools independently\nKnowledge of enterprise business applications such as SAP, Salesforce, ERP, CRM, HRIS, or other large-scale platforms preferred.\nProficiency with documentation and collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, Visio, and related platforms.\nUnderstanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, and IT Service Management (ITSM) practices.\nThe estimated salary range for this role based in Utah is between $81,300 - 97,100. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living.
