Algorithm design will involve image processing and machine learning methodologies from design to optimization.\nThe position will include collaboration and interaction with other scientists and engineers while prototyping, integrating and testing the technology for the next generation of diagnostic products for hospitals and laboratories. Coordination as a project team member with marketing, project management, quality analytics, manufacturing, regulatory and other functional areas will be required.\nThe Data Scientist is expected to prototype and design to the goals of functionality and operational utility while considering long term architecture, solution universality, practicality, connectivity, and schedule commitments. The position requires the ability to perform critical analysis, work well in teams, and self-manage.\nPrimary Duties\nResponsible for completeing tasks within the Data Science function, requiring close collaboration and coordination with other global engineering/scientific disciplines, departments, and third-party partners\n\nEncourages best practices in Data Science and lead the utilization of advanced theories, methods and research techniques in product development and manufacturing\n\nMentoring others in the department on technology, methods and programming language utilization\n\nBuild relationships with external development partners and prospective technology partners; co-develop and drive projects with these partners\n\nRepresent Data Science on project teams and provides inputs to Project Management on a project-by-project basis. Provide Project Team inputs back to a sub-team of Data Scientists\n\nCandidate must be well grounded in fundamental and advanced concepts of applied mathematics, data analytics, statistics and image processing\n\nPerformance of statistical analysis to interpret experimental results\n\nDesign experimental methods and plans to generate results that drive critical product design selections\n\nIndependent Development and implementation of algorithms using global software development tools, methodologies and processes\n\nUnderstanding and willingness to self-learn the technologies used in this domain to be up-to-date with the latest developments in data analytics, image processing and machine learning both in academia and in industry\n\nEnjoy working in areas outside of usual comfort zone and love to learn new technologies. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living.
