The firm provides client-focused legal services while managing cases from intake through settlement.\nAbout the role:\nThey are seeking a detail-orientedLien & Settlement Accountant to manage the firm’s day-to-day accounting and support the financial workflow from settlement through final client disbursement.This role will work closely with the finance, case management, and settlement teams to ensure accurate bookkeeping, lien resolution, settlement documentation, payments, and disbursements.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nSettlement & Disbursement\nManage files from settlement through final disbursement.\n\nPrepare closing statements and settlement documents.\n\nVerify liens, payoffs, referral sources, and client disbursement amounts.\n\nPrepare and maintain wire templates for payments and disbursements.\n\nVerify all required case documentation and settlement checks before disbursement.\n\nLien Files\nSend lien verification requests to lienholders.\n\nTrack and update lien information and remove duplicate entries.\n\nIdentify liens requiring negotiation and follow up with lienholders.\n\nObtain final lien payoffs and complete lien resolution before disbursement.\n\nMaintain accurate payoff documentation and Excel records.\n\nAccounting & Bookkeeping\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date firm bookkeeping records.\n\nReview incoming invoices and supporting documentation.\n\nIdentify and resolve incorrect or disputed charges.\n\nProcess approved invoices and payments.\n\nReconcile bank and operating accounts regularly.\n\nTrack staff expenses and reimbursements.\n\nMaintain accurate financial records and documentation.\n\nWho are we looking for?\n1-3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial coordination experience.\n\nExperience with legal settlements, liens, medical payoffs, or personal injury law firms is strongly preferred.\n\nStrong understanding of financial records, reconciliations, invoices, and disbursements.\n\nAdvanced or strong Excel skills.\n\nComfortable working with cloud-based tools and AI-assisted workflows such as Claude.\n\nExceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy.\n\nStrong written English and professional communication skills.\n\nHighly organized with strong follow-up and time-management skills.\n\nAbility to handle confidential financial and client information.\n\nComfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.\n\nAble to work U.S. business hours and meet consistent deadlines.\n\nPersonal Injury law firm experience is preferred.\nExperience with\nClaude or similar AI tools is preferred.\nPosition: Lien & Settlement Accountant\nRemote Status: Fully Remote\nPreferred Location: Latin America\nWorking Hours: 9 AM -
