As a senior team member you will take ownership of backend architecture mentor junior developers and play a key role in designing and implementing enterprise-grade software solutions that power our digital platforms.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nBackend Architecture & Development\n\nDesign develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java (Spring Boot Hibernate and related frameworks).\n\nArchitect microservices-based systems that ensure modularity performance and ease of maintenance.\n\nIntegrate third-party services APIs and databases efficiently and securely.\n\nImplement asynchronous processing caching and multi threading to optimize application performance.\n\nCollaborate closely with front-end developers to design seamless efficient communication between systems.\n\nCode Quality & Testing\n\nWrite clean modular and well-documented code following industry best practices.\n\nDevelop and execute unit integration and performance tests using JUnit or TestNG.\n\nParticipate in peer code reviews to ensure code consistency maintainability and scalability.\n\nContinuously improve application reliability through automated testing and CI/CD practices.\n\nLeadership & Mentorship\n\nProvide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level developers.\n\nCollaborate with the Backend Lead to establish development standards coding guidelines and architectural principles.\n\nParticipate in technical discussions and decision-making processes that shape backend strategy and best practices.\n\nPromote a learning culture by conducting internal workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.\n\nPerformance Optimization & Troubleshooting\n\nMonitor and tune application performance using profiling and monitoring tools (e.g. JProfiler Prometheus Grafana).\n\nIdentify bottlenecks memory leaks and other system inefficiencies and resolve them proactively.\n\nLead incident response and root cause analysis for critical production issues.\n\nAgile Development\n\nActively contribute to Agile ceremoniesplanning stand-ups sprint reviews and retrospectives.\n\nWork collaboratively with product owners QA DevOps and design teams to deliver on sprint commitments.\n\nEnsure timely delivery of high-quality production-ready code.\n\nAnticipate and mitigate risks during the development lifecycle.\n\nContinuous Learning & Innovation\n\nStay updated with the latest Java ecosystem developments frameworks and tools.\n\nResearch and propose innovative solutions to improve performance security and maintainability.\n\nContribute to open discussions on architectural enhancements and scalability strategies.\n\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives across the backend engineering function.\n\nRequirementsBachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.\n\n5 years of backend development experience with strong proficiency in Java (Java 11).\n\nHands-on experience with Spring Boot Hibernate/JPA RESTful APIs and Microservices architecture.\n\nSolid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) design patterns and software engineering principles.\n\nExperience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL MongoDB).\n\nFamiliarity with Docker Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins GitHub Actions).\n\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on clean efficient solutions.\n\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.\n\nWork Environment\n\nWorking Hours: Flexible start time between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
