This role is responsible for assessing site readiness, validating usable power and cooling capacity, quantifying gaps and remediation needs, and delivering clear go or no-go recommendations that move qualified sites to deployment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-driven engineer and clear communicator who thrives in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.\nThis is a full-time role based in San Jose, CA, with regular travel for on-site assessments and deployment support.\nWhat you will be responsible for\nLead remote reviews and on-site inspections of data centers to determine whether they can support target GPU cluster configurations, capacity, and deployment schedules.\nValidate operator claims against drawings, equipment specifications, operating records, utility documentation, and commissioning evidence.\nDistinguish utility supply, total facility load, and usable IT capacity, and assess available and committed capacity, rack density, and expansion constraints.\nEvaluate power distribution, UPS, backup generation, and redundancy against the needs of high-density AI workloads.\nAssess air cooling and direct-to-chip liquid cooling, including heat rejection, cooling distribution units (CDUs), facility water conditions, flow and temperature, piping, and leak detection.\nReview rack space, floor loading, delivery access, cabling, carrier diversity, fiber routes, bandwidth, and latency, and partner with network engineering on Ethernet and InfiniBand cluster designs.\nReview monitoring, maintenance, incident response, remote hands, physical security, and commissioning and acceptance records to identify operational and resilience gaps.\nClassify sites as ready for deployment, requiring defined upgrades, or requiring substantial development.\nProduce decision-ready assessments documenting achievable IT capacity, rack count, dependencies, cost estimates, schedule risks, and a go or no-go recommendation.\nResolve technical questions with operators, landlords, utilities, equipment vendors, and contractors.\nDefine remediation and acceptance criteria, verify closure of critical issues, and hand development work to the appropriate team.\nPartner with AI ecosystem, cloud infrastructure, procurement, and engineering teams to build a consistent assessment process and a prioritized pipeline of qualified sites.\nHow you will stand out\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.\n5+ years of experience in data center engineering, critical facilities, infrastructure solutions engineering, commissioning, or field applications engineering.\nHands-on experience assessing or delivering data centers, with a track record of identifying deployment blockers and driving technical issues to resolution.\nStrong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including power distribution, backup systems, cooling, and the relationship between facility capacity and usable IT load.\nAbility to read electrical single-line diagrams, mechanical schematics, equipment data sheets, rack layouts, and commissioning reports.\nUnderstanding of AI or HPC infrastructure requirements, including high-density GPU systems, liquid cooling, and high-speed networking.\nAbility to write clear site assessment reports, compare options, estimate remediation scope, and explain technical risks and tradeoffs to business stakeholders.\nStrong professional English communication skills and willingness to travel for site assessments and deployment support.\nPreferred: experience with GPU cloud, colocation, hyperscale, or HPC facilities, including high-density or liquid-cooled deployments.\nPreferred: experience with facility commissioning, integrated systems testing, capacity planning, or converting existing facilities for AI workloads.\nPreferred: familiarity with colocation agreements, service-level commitments, utility tariffs, power usage effectiveness (PUE), and total cost of ownership (TCO).\nPreferred: experience coordinating equipment vendors, data center operators, and engineering contractors across regions.\nWhat you will experience working with us\nA culture that values authenticity and diverse perspectives.\nAn inclusive, respectful environment with open workspaces and an energetic, start-up spirit.\nA fast-growing company with opportunities to network with industry pioneers and enthusiasts.\nThe ability to contribute directly and make an impact on the future of the digital asset and AI computing industry.\nInvolvement in new projects and in developing processes/systems.\nPersonal accountability, autonomy, rapid growth, and learning opportunities.\nAttractive benefits and development such as training and mentoring.\n______________________________________________________\nBitdeer is committed to providing equal employment opportunities in accordance with country, state, and local laws.
