For more information, visit https://www.bitdefender.com\nWe are looking for a motivated QA Automation Engineer to join our growing QA team in APAC region and build the software, frameworks, and engineering practices that improve the quality, reliability, and scalability of GravityZone products.\nReporting to the QA Lead, you will design and develop automated test systems for web, API, micro-services, and backend processing workflows. You will work closely with software engineers, product managers, tech leads, and QA engineers across different countries, cultures, and time zones to improve testability and deliver high-quality software in an Agile environment.\nThis position is ideal for Software Engineer in Test with strong software engineering skills and quality-engineering judgment who can work independently, solve complex technical problems, and build maintainable automation at scale. Manual and exploratory testing may be performed when needed, but the primary focus is software development for testing, automation architecture, and continuous quality feedback.\nYou will have the opportunity to gain insight into how Bitdefender protects millions of users worldwide, from small businesses to large enterprises and law enforcement organizations, against constantly evolving cyber threats.\nAbout the Role\nAutomation Framework and Tooling Development: Design, develop, and maintain reusable Java-based automation components, API clients, Page Object Models, test-data utilities, and diagnostic tools using Maven, TestNG, and Selenium.\nAutomated Test Development and Coverage: Build reliable automated coverage for GravityZone UI, REST/JSON-RPC APIs, backend processing, and system integrations, prioritizing critical workflows and regression risks.\nCI/CD and Test Reliability: Integrate automated suites into Bamboo, investigate failures, reduce flaky tests, and improve execution speed and reporting. Connect automated results to TestRail for coverage and execution tracking.\nTestability and Technical Mentorship: Collaborate with developers on testable designs, review automation code, define engineering standards, and mentor QA engineers in coding and automation practices.\nRelease Validation and Targeted Manual Testing: Support release readiness through acceptance, smoke, and exploratory testing where automation is unavailable or unsuitable. Investigate defects and contribute to release-owner activities.\n Environment and Infrastructure Support: Provision and troubleshoot cloud and on-premise test environments and contribute to the maintenance of QA virtualization infrastructure, including Proxmox.\nAbout You\n8+ years in software development, test automation, or quality engineering, with substantial hands-on experience building automated test systems.\nStrong Java programming, object-oriented design, and debugging skills, with hands-on experience using Maven, TestNG, and Selenium WebDriver.\nProven ownership of automation framework architecture, including reusable libraries and Page Object Models, with maintainable test code supported by code reviews and engineering standards.\nExperience automating web interfaces, including Web Components and Shadow DOM, alongside REST/JSON-RPC APIs, asynchronous backend workflows, and integrations; able to validate data using SQL or NoSQL queries.\nExperience reducing flaky tests, improving execution speed, and building reliable test-data setup and cleanup. Able to integrate and troubleshoot automated suites in CI/CD pipelines, preferably Bamboo.\nExperience with AI-assisted software development and testing, including LLM-based tools, AI-generated test cases, automation code generation, test analysis, and debugging.\nAbility to read application code, improve testability with developers, and distinguish product defects from automation or environment failures; comfortable with Git and pull-request workflows.\nHands-on TestRail experience managing test cases, runs, results, and Jira traceability.
