We build and support Clarity Human Services, the technology that powers communities across the country in connecting people experiencing homelessness with the resources they need.\nWe lead with care, innovate with insider knowledge, and believe deeply in the power of community. We know strong candidates don't always look the same on paper, so if you're excited about this role, we'd love to hear from you. People with lived experience of homelessness are strongly encouraged to apply.\nAbout the role\nYour work decides what gets built next in the software that homelessness response systems rely on every day. You'll turn what communities need into clear requirements and thoughtful designs, so Engineering can build with confidence and the right features reach the people doing this work. As you grow, you'll take on larger features and a wider share of the product, with a defined career path to help you get there.\nAbout the Product team\nThe Product team defines, documents, and designs the features that Engineering builds into Clarity Human Services and our data products. We work closely with Engineering, customer-facing teams, and the communities we serve.\nSolutions analysis and business process mapping\n\nTechnical writing: requirements, specifications, and process documentation\n\nUser experience design: workflows, wireframes, and prototypes\n\nUsability testing and customer feedback\n\nHMIS data standards and interoperability\n\nCross-team prioritization and planning with Engineering\n\nWhat you'll do\nShape the product. Define, prioritize, and drive enhancements based on user needs, market trends, and what the system can do today.\n\nWrite requirements Engineering can build from. Produce clear, structured requirements and specifications, supported by flowcharts and basic UML diagrams where they help, and keep them current as requirements and project goals change.\n\nDesign with users in mind. Create and refine user workflows, wireframes, and prototypes, then test them before they reach development.\n\nListen to customers. Take part in customer onboarding, usability testing, user interviews, and our Feature Focus Q&A rotation, and turn what you hear into product decisions.\n\nPartner across teams. Work with Engineering, customer-facing teams, and senior stakeholders to align on priorities, adjusting how you explain complex topics to each audience.\n\nKeep the backlog ready. Get documentation and design done ahead of engineering capacity so the teams you support always have meaningful work queued.\n\nSpot risks early. Identify gaps, dependencies, and unclear requirements before they slow a release, and use data and stakeholder input to make the call on what to do about them.\n\nWork with modern tools. Use Jira, Confluence, Figma, Claude, Gemini, and similar tools to track, document, and design your work.\n\nYou'll know you're succeeding when...\nWithin your first 90 days, small and medium features reach Engineering ready to build, and large features do with support. You can explain Clarity and HUD data standards in your own words.\n\nEngineering accepts your documents without rework and builds without repeated clarification, and you deliver against agreed timelines, raising risks before they affect release plans.\n\nBy month 6, large features go from idea to ready for Engineering on your own, and you're taking part in Feature Focus Q&A, customer onboarding, and usability testing.\n\nCustomer and usability feedback is documented, reflected in design changes before release, and traceable to the enhancements you prioritize.\n\nStakeholders across Product, Engineering, and customer-facing teams can explain current priorities and the reasoning behind them.\n\nBy month 12, you're carrying a full product manager workload across all engineering teams, and each team's backlog stays stocked with ready work.\n\nWhat you bring\nProduct or analysis experience. At least 3 years in product management, business analysis, or a related role.\n\nRequirements writing. Experience documenting software requirements and producing structured technical documentation.\n\nSound judgment. You find creative and effective solutions to complex problems with minimal direction, weigh competing priorities, raise risks early, and explain what comes first and why.\n\nUser-centered design instincts. You apply UX principles and user personas and can design basic user flows and prototypes.\n\nClear communication and teamwork. You explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, share context early, work well asynchronously, build working relationships, and welcome feedback.\n\nIntegrity and discretion. You handle sensitive customer and community information with care, keep your commitments, and are honest about what you don't know or got wrong.\n\nTechnical curiosity. You're eager to explore and evaluate emerging technologies and modern software tools, including AI tools, and you can recommend where they apply to product work.\n\nNice to have\nExperience with social services software, particularly Clarity Human Services or similar HMIS platforms.\n\nAn understanding of homeless response systems, HMIS functions, and industry regulations.\n\nFamiliarity with API design, data integrations, and interoperability standards, such as RESTful APIs and data exchange protocols.\n\nExperience with cloud data platforms, such as Snowflake.\n\nExperience with data analytics or visualization tools, such as Looker or Tableau.\n\nA bachelor's degree in business, information systems, human services, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.\n\nKnowledge of the pain points and trends in human services.\n\nWhy Bitfocus\nWe invest in your health, growth, and life outside of work:\nExceptional culture, real mission. Join a team that leads with care and is genuinely committed to getting this work right.\n\nComprehensive healthcare. 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees, including free virtual medical and mental health visits through Healthiest You regardless of plan enrollment.\n\nMental health support. A confidential Employee Assistance Program plus in-network therapy options.\n\nGenerous parental leave. 12 weeks paid, for growing families.\n\nReal time to recharge. Three weeks paid vacation, two paid volunteer days, and a paid R&R Week at year-end.\n\nRetirement match. 401(k) with a 4% company match.\n\nRemote-life stipends. Monthly internet and home office stipends to help you do your best work from wherever you are.\n\nWellness programming. Year-round physical, emotional, financial, and social wellness resources through our EmpowerLinc program.\n\nA path forward. Defined career growth plans for every role.\n\nOptional extras. Voluntary pet and legal insurance.\n\nCompensation\nWe're committed to competitive, equitable pay. Compensation bands reflect market data for comparable roles in and adjacent to the HMIS industry, adjusted for the specialized nature of our work. Where you land depends on your experience, skills, and the complexity you bring to the role. Compensation is not location-based.\nThe targeted compensation range for this role is $64,000-$125,000, which includes variable compensation (bonus) eligibility.\nRemote work\nBitfocus is a fully distributed team, and this role is remote. You'll need a reliable internet connection and a workspace where you can focus and take calls without interruption. We provide a monthly stipend to help cover your internet costs, plus a home office stipend when you join, so you're set up to succeed from day one.\nEqual opportunity\nBitfocus is an equal opportunity employer. We don't tolerate discrimination on the basis of gender, age, sexual orientation, race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, disability, or veteran status. We hire and promote based on skills, experience, and potential, and we work to reduce bias at every stage of our process, including through structured interviews. We're also committed to providing reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities throughout the hiring process.\nA note on AI use during hiring\nWe know candidates use AI tools to help prepare applications, and that's okay - we'd just ask that what you submit and say in interviews reflects your own understanding and experience. On our end, a human is always involved in reviewing your application and making hiring decisions; AI may support parts of our process, but it doesn't replace our judgment about who you are and whether this is a good fit.\nA note on your security\nTo protect yourself from recruitment scams: all official communication about this role will come from an @bitfocus.com email address or through our applicant tracking system, Greenhouse. Bitfocus will never ask you for payment, banking details, or sensitive personal financial information as part of our hiring process. If something feels off, reach out to us directly to confirm before responding.\nA note on timing\nApplications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. To ensure consideration, please apply by 11/21/2026.","description_format":"text","description_chars":9065,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Home office","Parental leave"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Custom Software Development"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-21T19:18:10Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":2,"expected_fill_days":33,"reasons":["conf:2","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-24T06:02:35Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":125000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/bitfocus-product-manager","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/bitfocus-product-manager.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-24T11:36:36Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":16555,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-25T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":672503},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=672503"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fbitfocus-product-manager"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fbitfocus-product-manager"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fbitfocus-product-manager"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/bitfocus-product-manager\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fbitfocus-product-manager"}]}
