What you'll do

• Strategy & plan. Set the pillar’s audit strategy and own the risk-based annual plan, mapped to the group audit universe and refreshed for emerging risks.
• Deliver. Lead, execute, and quality-review engagements end to end (planning to reporting) in line with IIA Standards, personally leading the most complex or sensitive reviews.
• Domain. Cover the full compliance domain - AML/CFT, KYC/CDD, transaction monitoring (KYT), sanctions and PEP screening, the Travel Rule, and market surveillance and integrity.
• Regulatory. Audit adherence to licence conditions and regulatory obligations across the group's regimes and the accuracy of regulatory reporting.
• Report & influence. Present risk-ranked findings and thematic insight to the Head of Internal Audit, and senior management; agree management actions and track remediation to closure.
• Lead. Lead, coach and develop the pillar's auditors, set technical standards, and provide advisory input on new products and licences without impairing independence.

What you'll need

• 10+ years in internal/external audit, compliance testing, or financial-crime assurance gained at a bank, major financial institution, Big 4 firm, or regulated financial-services business - including significant team or engagement leadership
• A relevant professional certification: CAMS, CIA, CPA, CA, ICA, or equivalent.
• Deep working knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks (FATF, Travel Rule) and sanctions regimes, with the credibility to challenge senior management.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills, and a track record of presenting to executives or audit committees.

Nice to have

• Experience at a crypto exchange, custodian, or VASP, or exposure to digital-asset financial-crime typologies (on-chain laundering, mixers, chain-hopping).
• Familiarity with blockchain-analytics tooling (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic).
• Professional proficiency in English and Chinese.
