The team is part of Bitsight’s broader product development organization and will be involved with investigating and prototyping new potential product capabilities. This manager position will be tasked with leading a multifaceted security research team that addresses a broad range of Bitsight's strategic technical challenges. This role will be ideally suited to a technical leader with a mix of security and data science skills who is eager to lead a research team and influence the future technology investments of the Bitsight platform.\nKey Responsibilities:\nEstablish team priorities for research and development of new data collection prototypes, big-data analytic pipelines, and security exposure assessment methodologies\nCollaborate with the product and engineering organizations to align capability development roadmaps and complete technology transfer of research prototypes into production environments\nDecompose long-term strategic business challenges into technical research plans\nRecruit, train, and develop a team of security researchers\nClearly articulate research findings to business stakeholders and provide defensible recommendations on business processes, priorities, and investments\nDevelop, drive, and own processes for quality assurance of team research and data\nIdeate product features and enhancements based on the latest security trends and capabilities\nIdentify, establish, and maintain data partnership opportunities in collaboration with Data Operations through scouting and assessment of product value in third party data sources\nSupport marketing activities and customer engagements by promoting key findings and capabilities and explaining product data and ratings concepts\nRequired Qualifications:\nStrong technical background with expertise in networking and information security\nStrong communication and analytical skills, including the ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems\nAdept at applying AI tooling to accelerate projects and workflows while understanding and mitigating the risks they introduce\nExperience leading research initiatives and teams to build security products\nProficient in writing and reviewing code to facilitate prototype development\nProven track record in security data analysis and presentation\nAbility to conduct, interpret, and explain statistical experiments to quantify research value propositions\nEducation: B.S/M.S in Computer Science or similar field or commensurate experience.\nAbout BitSight\nBased in Boston, MA, Raleigh, NC and Lisbon, PT, the company is the pioneer and leader in the security ratings market delivering ratings solutions for third-party risk management, benchmarking, and cyber insurance.\n\nThe anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is 160,000.00 - 200,000.00 USD Annual for US-based employees. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, is based on a full-time work schedule, and is Bitsight’s good faith estimate as of the date of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for participation in a bonus or commission plan and an equity grant.
