We are building a product our users love and we are just getting started!\nThe Role\nBitstack is a crypto-asset service provider authorised under the MiCA Regulation. As such, we are subject to strict requirements relating to anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF) and fraud prevention.\nAs part of the Compliance team, you will contribute to the day-to-day implementation of our compliance framework. You will review alerts and customer cases across three key areas: transaction monitoring, screening and KYC.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\n1. Transaction Monitoring (Fiat & Crypto)\nAnalyse and investigate transaction monitoring alerts across euro payment flows (card payments and SEPA transfers) and crypto flows (on-chain deposits and withdrawals).\n\nExamine transaction patterns, counterparties and wallet exposure to assess each alert and determine whether it is a false positive or should be escalated.\n\nDetect fraudulent activity, including payment fraud, account takeovers and scams targeting our users.\n\nDocument your findings and, where appropriate, prepare the supporting information for a suspicious activity report to TRACFIN, the French financial intelligence unit.\n\nContribute to improving detection scenarios and monitoring alert metrics.\n\n2. Screening: PEPs, Sanctions & Adverse Media\nReview screening alerts and determine whether a match is genuine or a false positive.\n\nImplement enhanced due diligence measures for politically exposed persons (PEPs), including checks on the source of funds and source of wealth.\n\nEscalate confirmed matches against sanctions lists or adverse media findings in accordance with internal procedures.\n\n3. KYC (Know Your Customer)\nReview and validate customer supporting documents, including proof of identity, proof of address, proof of income, source of funds and source of wealth.\n\nDetect identity theft attempts and forged documents.\n\nAssess consistency between the customer's profile, declared information and observed activity.\n\nRequest additional documentation and follow up on cases through to their final decision.\n\nYou will also contribute to updating internal procedures and monitoring emerging fraud and money laundering typologies within the crypto ecosystem.\nYou will gain hands-on experience with an AML/CFT framework at a regulated crypto-asset service provider. You will learn how alerts are handled from initial detection through to the final decision, how a risk-based approach is applied, how blockchain analytics tools are used, and how the Compliance team collaborates with Product, Operations and Customer Support.\nWhat We're Looking For\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Compliance, Law, Finance, Risk Management or a related field, and looking for an internship or work-study placement.\n\nPrevious exposure to AML/CFT, KYC or fraud prevention through an internship, coursework or certification is a plus, but not required.\n\nHighly organised, rigorous and detail-oriented.\n\nAble to draw well-reasoned conclusions and clearly document findings in writing.\n\nComfortable using spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), with a strong interest in crypto-assets and blockchain technology.\n\nDiscreet and meticulous when handling sensitive personal data.\n\nFluent in French and comfortable working in English.\n\nPerks & Benefits\n3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely\nFlexible working hours\nTeam activities and annual offsites\nSwile meal vouchers\nDiversity & Inclusion\nWe hire talented and passionate people from all kinds of backgrounds, we don’t care about your age or where you studied.
