Who cares about redefining how everyone around us can get the best financial applications, not for an exclusive few.\nIf you're this person, we'd love to talk to you.\nThe Role\nWe are looking for backend engineers to build the core systems behind BJAK's AI Finance Agent.\nThis role is for engineers who can build reliable APIs, workflows and financial product infrastructure that can scale across markets, partners and millions of users.\nWhat You'll Own\nBuild backend services, APIs and workflows for the AI Neobank app.\n\nSupport products across insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel and financial services.\n\nDesign reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications and operations.\n\nWork with product and mobile teams to ship customer-facing journeys quickly.\n\nIntegrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers and other partners.\n\nImprove system reliability, observability, security and performance.\n\nBuild systems that are practical, auditable and ready for regulated financial products.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n3+ years of backend engineering experience.\n\nStrong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design and production debugging.\n\nExperience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems.\n\nGood understanding of security, reliability, data quality and operational edge cases.\n\nAble to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality and risk.\n\nComfortable working with product, mobile, operations and business teams.\n\nExperience in fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking or regulated products is a strong advantage.\n\nThe Kind of Builder We Want\nBuilds systems that work in the real world, not just on diagrams.\n\nThinks through edge cases, failure modes and operational impact.\n\nCan move fast without creating fragile foundations.\n\nTakes ownership of production issues and long-term reliability.\n\nExplains clearly what they personally built versus what the team delivered.\n\nThis Role Is Not For\nEngineers who only want isolated backend tasks.\n\nPeople who ignore security, data consistency, monitoring or operational risk.\n\nDevelopers who cannot work with fast-changing product requirements.\n\nCandidates who talk about scale but have not handled production systems.\n\nPeople who exaggerate impact without being clear on ownership.\n\nLocation\nThis role is remote, but candidates must be based in Singapore. We are hiring specifically for this market, so applicants should already be based in Singapore.\nLanguage\nEnglish is our main working language across global teams.
