You’ll lead concept development, manage end-to-end production, and edit raw footage into visually engaging, on-brand video content for multiple platforms. You will collaborate with creatives across departments to elevate the visual quality of all marketing and brand materials. This role is ideal for a hands-on creator with strong technical editing skills, a passion for crafting visually powerful narratives, and the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.\nThis is a 3-month contract role with an opportunity to transition into a full-time role afterwards.\nWhat You’ll Do\n1. Creative Direction & Production\nLead planning, storyboarding, and execution of high-quality video content across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Xiaohongshu (XHS).\n\nDevelop and own creative concepts that enhance brand storytelling, drive engagement, and align with campaign objectives.\n\nSet visual direction and ensure all content reflects BJAK’s tone, style, and brand identity.\n\nProduce visually compelling content - from corporate storytelling to fast-turnaround social videos.\n\n2. Editing & Post-Production\nEdit raw video footage into compelling, polished videos optimized for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Xiaohongshu (XHS).\n\nPerform color correction, sound design, motion graphics, and subtitling to enhance overall video quality.\n\nManage multiple projects concurrently with high attention to quality, consistency, and delivery timelines.\n\nEstablish best practices and editing standards to maintain visual coherence across all BJAK content.\n\nEnsure all final outputs meet platform specifications and are optimized for engagement and reach.\n\n3. Creative Collaboration\nWork closely with the Creative, Marketing, and Social Media teams to bring ideas to life through strong visual narratives.\n\nProvide creative input on visual direction, pacing, and storytelling.\n\nSupport weekly content production cycles - from short-form reels to long-form marketing videos.\n\nCollaborate cross-functionally with designers, copywriters, and strategists to deliver cohesive content campaigns.\n\n4. Workflow & Asset Management\nOversee the full production pipeline - from media management and equipment setup to file optimization and export.\n\nMaintain organized archives of raw footage, assets, and project files for easy access and reuse.\n\nEnsure efficient troubleshooting and execution of editing workflows and proper file backups.\n\nCollaborate with other videographers and editors to maintain a consistent editing standard across projects.\n\n5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation\nStay updated on social media video trends, editing tools, and visual effects techniques.\n\nExperiment with new storytelling techniques and visual styles to increase audience reach and retention.\n\nSuggest and test new editing styles or formats to improve engagement and content performance.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Film, Multimedia, Communications, or a related field.\n\n5+ years of experience in video editing or related creative production.\n\nStrong portfolio or showreel showcasing diverse video styles and storytelling techniques.\n\nSkilled in camera operations, lighting setups, and audio recording.\n\nProficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop (or equivalent tools).\n\nStrong understanding of storytelling, visual pacing, and transitions.\n\nKnowledge of aspect ratios, compression, and file formats for digital platforms.\n\nDeep understanding of social media platforms, video algorithms, and content optimization.\n\nStrong sense of visual storytelling, composition, pacing, and attention to detail.\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.\n\nLocation\nThis role is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is a hybrid role. You are expected to work from our Malaysia office at least 3 days per week.\nLanguage\nEnglish is our main working language across global teams.
