This role is critical to ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our contracting processes while supporting the smooth operations of our legal, financial, and project management teams. You will help ensure that all contractual matters are handled with the highest level of integrity and attention to detail. NOTE: This is a temporary position, anticipated duration of four to six months.\nResponsibilities\nWork independently with limited supervision, exercising sound judgment to prioritize contract reviews, manage competing deadlines, and drive assignments through completion.\nMaintain Contract Review SharePoint Site. Request Professional Services Agreements and Prime Agreements when needed. Assign Lead Reviewers based on contract type.\nProactively evaluate existing contract administration and document management processes; recommend and help implement improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, consistency, and visibility.\nReview Public Agency contract language and assist PIC and VP with identifying contract language that should be changed. \nReview and analyze contract terms and legal documents for risk, inconsistencies, and alignment with company policies, statutes, and applicable laws\nProvide clear, concise, and professional written comments on contract drafts, and recommend alternatives or solutions for problematic language. \nCollaborate directly with engineers, project managers, and internal stakeholders to gather context, clarify intent, and ensure contract provisions reflect technical and operational needs. \nParticipate in internal efforts to establish, maintain and refine standard contract templates and specifications based on BKF policies, regulatory updates and industry trends \nAssist in the preparation, review and editing of NDAs, teaming agreements, amendments, assignments and other legal documents. \nCollaborate with multiple internal project managers and legal staff to develop all contract and other legal materials and supporting documents. \nCompare new project contracts with existing contracts for the same client to ensure consistency with previous agreements. \nMaintain searchable records of existing client contracts, including markups and negotiated terms, for easy review on future projects. \nRequirements\n10+ years of contract review and negotiation experience, preferably within the public sector with professional engineering environment. \nStrong understanding of construction, engineering, or professional services contracts. \nProven ability to identify risks, inconsistencies, or unclear terms, and recommend edits, alternatives, or language improvements. \nExperience working closely with engineering teams or technical departments, with an ability to bridge legal and technical language. \nExcellent written communication and editing skills-must be able to comment clearly and professionally in a consistent voice. \nComfortable interpreting and applying relevant statutes (public contracts code, labor laws, license board regulations, etc.). \nStrong research and documentation skills, ideally with experience using legal tools\nExperience with document management and contract-review platforms such as Word Redlining, SharePoint, DocJuris, and Box AI (preferred).\nPhysical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.\nWork Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.\nBenefits\nThe typical base salary range for this position is $87,142.00 - $116,688.00, annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
