You’ll work in fast paced environments, collaborate with skilled professionals, and help deliver the reliable connectivity that drives today’s digital world.\nIf you’re looking for hands-on work, technical development, and the chance to grow with an industry leader - this is your opportunity.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDeliver High Quality Structured Cabling Work\nInstall, test, service, and decommission structured cabling systems including fiber optics, copper, communications, and other low voltage systems.\n\nBuild and remove cabinets, racks, cable trays, pathways, and related data center infrastructure.\n\nPerform physical installations and removals with precision, safety, and attention to detail.\n\nChampion Safety & Quality\nFollow all Company and customer safety standards to ensure an Accident-Free Everyday environment.\n\nUphold quality, production, and industry best practices in every installation.\n\nMaintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area to support efficient and safe operations.\n\nInterpret and Execute Technical Plans\nRead and follow project drawings, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.\n\nApply broad understanding of structured cabling installation, routing, labeling, and commissioning.\n\nEnsure installations meet design intent, customer requirements, and industry standards.\n\nSupport the Team & Mentor Others\nWork as a proactive member of the team, supporting less experienced technicians and sharing knowledge.\n\nHelp plan materials, tools, and tasks to keep projects moving smoothly.\n\nCommunicate clearly with supervisors, teammates, and customer representatives.\n\nWhat Helps You Succeed\nAbility to follow instructions carefully while working with strong independence.\n\nComfortable teaching and learning from peers; contributes positively to team culture.\n\nAble to distinguish color for cable identification.\n\nProficient with telecom and construction hand tools, safely and effectively.\n\nThrives in a fast paced, changing environment while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.\n\nHighly reliable - shows up on time, prepared, and ready to work.\n\nStrong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.\n\nWillingness to workdays, nights, weekends, or overtime based on project needs.\n\nExcellent work ethics, integrity, and self-motivation.\n\nReads, writes, and understands English; reliable daily transportation required.\n\nWhat You Bring\nHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.\n\n3-5 years of telecom/structured cabling experience (data center experience a strong plus).\n\nOSHA10 preferred (must obtain within 90 days).\n\nFirst Aid/CPR certification within 90 days.\n\nFOA certifications, BICSI cabling certifications, or similar credentials preferred.\n\nWork Environment & Physical Demands\nThis is an active, hands-on role inside data centers and technology rich environments.\nYou will:\nWork primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks.\n\nExperience moderate noise levels typical of construction and data center settings.\n\nRegularly sit, kneel, stoop, climb, crawl, reach, talk, and hear during tasks.\n\nFrequently stand and walk for extended periods.\n\nRegularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and frequently lift up to 25 lbs.\n\nWork in tight or confined spaces, raised floors, and sometimes at heights using ladders or lifts.\n\nWear PPE and follow all safety protocols.\n\nReasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.\n Work Location & Travel\nOnsite daily at customer or data center locations.\n\nMinimal overnight travel (≈5%), but flexibility is required when project needs shift.\n\n Required Tools\nCandidates must bring and maintain a professional tool kit including (but not limited to):\nNotepad, tool pouch, cable sheath stripper, punch tools, scissors, screwdrivers, pliers, utility knife, tape measure, torpedo level, channel locks, hammer, wrench sets, socket sets, nut drivers, flashlight/headlamp, cordless drill, cordless impact, VFL, toner set, and cable tester.\n\nWhy Black Box?\nBlack Box is a leading global technology solutions provider with 2,500+ team members across 24 countries.
