forBusiness Systems Analyst, ITThis role is hybrid - in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home.\nReporting to the GM, IT, the Business Systems Analyst acts as the bridge between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams, translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technology initiatives.\nThe role leads requirements discovery, analyzes business processes, identifies gaps, and ensures complex projects have defined scope, business rules, data needs, integrations, workflows, security considerations, reporting requirements, and acceptance criteria before implementation begins.\nThis role requires a technically minded analyst who understands enterprise applications, system configuration, data flows, integrations, reporting, and software delivery concepts well enough to produce implementation-ready work for technical teams.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nBusiness Analysis and Requirements Gathering\nLead requirements gathering and discovery sessions with business users, IT teams, vendors, and system owners.\nDefine and document business problems, objectives, scope, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, risks, and success criteria.\nElicit, analyze, document, validate, and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements.\nIdentify missing requirements, conflicting information, undefined business rules, exceptions, and edge cases.\nTranslate business needs into implementation-ready artifacts, including user stories, work items, acceptance criteria, process flows, configuration details, data mappings, integration requirements, and reporting requirements.\nMaintain traceability between business objectives, requirements, testing, and delivered functionality.\nObtain appropriate stakeholder validation and agreement on requirements.\nBusiness Process and Systems Analysis\nDocument and analyze current-state and future-state business processes.\nIdentify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, or improve business processes.\nDocument workflows, approvals, business rules, system interactions, integrations, data flows, permissions, and reporting needs.\nAssess gaps between business requirements and existing system capabilities.\nWork with technical teams and vendors to evaluate solution options and ensure proposed solutions meet business requirements.\nSupport root-cause analysis and resolution of business and system issues.\n\nProject Intake and Delivery Support\nWork with business stakeholders and IT leadership to assess and validate new technology requests and initiatives.\nAssist in defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, dependencies, risks, feasibility, and expected business value.\nSupport evaluation of software products, platforms, vendors, and implementation approaches.\nEnsure requirements and key decisions are sufficiently defined before work is assigned to technical delivery teams.\nWork closely with developers, administrators, and vendors throughout implementation to clarify requirements and resolve questions.\nIdentify and communicate changes in scope, requirements, risks, dependencies, and outstanding decisions.\nSupport backlog refinement and prioritization where Agile delivery methods are used.\n\nTesting and User Acceptance\nDevelop UAT scenarios, test cases, and expected outcomes based on approved requirements.\nCoordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders.\nTrack defects, gaps, and outstanding requirements through resolution.\nValidate that system configuration, workflows, reporting, integrations, and delivered functionality meet documented business requirements.\nAssist with defect triage and determine whether issues represent defects, configuration issues, misunderstood requirements, or new requirements.\nStakeholder Relations and Documentation\nMaintain alignment between business stakeholders, IT delivery teams, vendors, and project stakeholders throughout discovery, implementation, testing, and support transition.\nBuild effective relationships with business leaders, subject matter experts, technical teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.\nMaintain accurate, current, and controlled project, requirements, and decision documentation.\nSupport change management, user documentation, training materials, and implementation communications where required.\nProactively identify and communicate issues, risks, dependencies, decisions, and required actions.\nContinuously identify opportunities to improve business analysis practices, IT delivery processes, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.\n\nQualifications and Experience\nPost-secondary education in Business Analysis, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.\nDemonstrated experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting technology initiatives.\nExperience gathering and documenting requirements for enterprise applications, software implementations, or complex technology projects.\nExperience working with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and implementation partners.\nExperience creating functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, test cases, and other business analysis artifacts.\nStrong understanding of enterprise applications, business processes, data, integrations, reporting, permissions, and system configuration.\nExperience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Project/Planner, or similar relevant tools preferred.\nExperience with ERP, CRM, financial, operational, reporting, asset management, or other enterprise systems is considered an asset.\nFamiliarity with APIs, integrations, databases, identity and access management, and enterprise application architecture is considered an asset.\nBusiness Analysis certifications are considered
