Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company’s internal and external financial reporting. The successful candidate will lead the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, public company filings, and technical accounting analysis in accordance with IFRS standards. You are analytical, highly organized, and confident in navigating complex accounting issues while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. You bring strong business acumen, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.\nResponsibilities\nEnsure internal and external financial reporting is timely and accurate with strong attention to detail and in accordance with IFRS\nPreparation of quarterly and annual consolidated and legal entity financial statements, including note disclosures, working papers, and other public company filings, including Management Discussion and Analysis\nEnsure accounting practices are appropriate, well implemented, and comply with accepted policies and procedures\nResearch, assess and document current accounting principles and the effect of new pronouncements on the company\nPrepare for and coordinate with external auditors for all quarterly and annual financial reporting periods\nResponsible for researching and determining the appropriate IFRS accounting treatment for complex transactions, including preparation of accounting memos and appropriate note disclosures\nCompile and ensure completeness of documentation to support financial statements\nSupports month-end and year-end closing\nResponsible for assisting in Budget planning and analysis and rolling 12 month forecasts\nStrong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to build relationships at the executive level and cross-functionally\nThorough knowledge of IFRS; as well as continuous disclosure requirements\nPotential to assist with accounting and financial due diligence on acquisitions/investments\nMaintain and perform key controls in the financial reporting process\nProvided leadership, mentorship and direction to team\nDemonstrated indirect leadership and support to Cross functional accounting teams\nQualifications\nAccounting degree or equivalent\nAccounting designation (CPA, CA) required\nStrong knowledge of IFRS\nKnowledge of auditing practices and principles\nA minimum of 3-5 years' experience in the management of external financial reporting for a public company, financial data analysis, and full cycle accounting\nSelf-starter and ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment\nPossess excellent communication and interpersonal skills\nPossess a professional and ethical attitude\nFor more information, please visit www.BlackDiamondGroup.com\nWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer\nBlack Diamond Group Limited is committed to diversity, equal opportunity and ensuring that our employees have the ability to thrive in an inclusive environment.
