You will apply strong software engineering practices to LLM-powered applications, AI agents, and intelligent workflow automation.\nThis is an experienced software engineering role dedicated solely to AI projects. You will work across existing services, APIs, data sources, and business systems to move AI solutions from concept and experimentation into secure, reliable, observable, and maintainable production systems. You will also provide technical leadership, help establish AI engineering standards, and coach other engineers as LodgeLink expands its AI capabilities.\nThis role is hybrid - in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop tools and services that enable AI systems to securely interact with LodgeLink's platforms, APIs, data, and business processes. \nIntegrate AI capabilities with existing applications and services using REST and other enterprise integration patterns. \nDesign and implement context management, tool integration, orchestration, and evaluation patterns for production AI systems. \nEvaluate and select AI models based on quality, latency, cost, security, and operational requirements. \nDetermine when AI is the right solution and when traditional software, business rules, or automation are more appropriate. \nIndependently deliver features and services, proactively reducing ambiguity and de-risking technical challenges. \nPartner with Product, Data, Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and business stakeholders to deliver practical AI solutions. \nMentor engineers on AI development practices while remaining hands-on in solution delivery. \nCommunicate AI capabilities, limitations, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and business audiences. \nDocument architectures, design decisions, evaluations, and operating procedures to support long-term maintainability. \nQualifications:\nProven experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting production software applications and services. \nHands-on experience delivering AI solutions, including LLM applications, AI agents, and workflow automation. \nStrong understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability. \nExperience integrating applications and services through APIs, including REST, GraphQL, and other enterprise patterns. \nAbility to design AI solutions using tool integration, orchestration, and structured outputs. \nExperience evaluating AI systems for quality, latency, cost, security, and operational performance. \nStrong knowledge of cloud-native development, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and operational support. \nAbility to troubleshoot complex issues across application, data, integration, and AI systems. \nDemonstrated technical leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to explain AI capabilities, limitations, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and business stakeholders. \nThis position requires satisfactory completion of a criminal records check and comprehensive Employment & Education Verification prior to employment.\nAbout LodgeLink\nLodgeLink, a Black Diamond Group company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada is more than just a digital marketplace and ecosystem for crew travel; we’re a caring tech company on a mission to transform workforce travel.
