If you're looking to do meaningful work alongside sharp, collaborative people - and grow your career in a space that matters - you're in the right place.\nTHE OPPORTUNITY\nWe are looking for a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer with hands-on experience in PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server and a strong interest in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies.\nYou will be responsible for managing and optimizing databases hosted on GCP, especially Cloud SQL, while working closely with engineering teams to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.\nWHAT YOU'LL OWN\nWrite, analyze, and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability\nManage and maintain PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases on GCP (Cloud SQL)\nPerform query tuning and performance optimization using execution plans\nDesign, implement, and maintain indexes\nSupport and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery setups in cloud environments\nPerform routine database maintenance tasks:\nIndex rebuild/reorganization\nStatistics updates\nBackup & restore operations\n\nMonitor and troubleshoot database performance issues in GCP environments\nWork closely with GCP services and infrastructure (Cloud SQL, Compute Engine, IAM basics, networking concepts)\nCollaborate with other teams to improve database usage and efficiency\nWHAT YOU BRING\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field and 1-2 years of database engineering experience \nBasic hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server\nStrong ability to write clean, efficient, and optimized SQL queries\nSolid understanding of:\nQuery execution plans\nQuery optimization techniques\nIndexing strategies\n\nFamiliarity with:\nJoins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions\nData modeling basics (normalization, relationships)\n\nHands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or strong foundational knowledge, especially:\nCloud SQL\nBasic cloud concepts (compute, networking, IAM)\n\nUnderstanding of high availability and replication concepts in cloud environments\nExperience with database maintenance and monitoring\nAbility to work in Linux and/or Windows environments\nStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills\nThis position is not eligible for visa sponsorship\nPREFERRED\nExperience with other GCP services (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Monitoring)\nExperience with non-relational databases, such as:\nMongoDB\nElasticsearch\nRedis\n\nFamiliarity with query profiling and performance tools\nBasic scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)\nExposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices\nKnowledge of database security and access control\nThe expected base compensation range for this role is $85,000-$100,000, commensurate with demonstrated skills and experience.
