The Buyer will be responsible purchasing general equipment, materials and business services for use by the region. The Buyer will also be responsible for providing administrative support to the company with emphasis on sourcing, purchasing material, assist in estimating, provide field staff support and issue purchase orders in a timely fashion. The Buyer will conduct activities with added oversight as required.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nSecure quotes for materials, equipment or services from suppliers for estimating during the bid process, as required\nReview discount structures with key vendors\nIdentify and source materials, equipment or services based on evaluation of cost, quality of goods and services as required\nReview requests for material and prepare appropriate purchase orders to suppliers to fulfill the requirements of the project or maintenance activity\nPlace orders with suppliers in such a manner as to provide the best-delivered cost for a project. Provide suppliers with purchase orders to establish a contract and facilitate billing\nIncrease / close out vendor purchase orders as required\nEnsure all paperwork is completed and approved before orders are placed with vendors\nReview committed costs as needed\nReview and process returns, claims and other supplier issues\nLiaison with Quality, Accounting, Project Management and Site Management as required\nUnderstand vendor marketplace and market conditions\nPlan, coordinate and execute procurement activities for equipment, materials and services\nReview bidder information, prepare and issue RFP and tender documents, evaluate bids, and provide recommendations\nComplete contract administration activities\nReview and escalate claims as required\nCommunicate relevant information to internal stakeholders (engineering, construction, QC, accounts payable)\nMonitor and track vendor performance\nDevelop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective vendors\nAny other assignments or projects as assigned by your Manager/Supervisor\nCOMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS\nCommunicates Effectively \nProblem Solving and Innovation \nTeamwork and Collaboration\nMaximizes Business Performance and Team Effectiveness\nEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS\nBachelor Degree in Business (or related discipline) or related experience\nWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\n1-2 years of procurement experience, preferably for nuclear projects in an EPC environment\nExperience on projects with low to medium risk and complexity\nRelevant designations preferred.\nSKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS\nProven understanding of procurement and contract administration process\nStrong communication, organization, analytical, and negotiation skills\nWORK PERKS & BENEFITS\nOpportunity to participate in community and wellness initiatives.\nTeam building events\nAccess to a dynamic Employee & Family Assistance Program\nOpportunity for ongoing professional development\nRewards and recognition\nScholarship Program for employee dependents\nCOMPENSATION\nThe expected salary range for this role is between $29.00/hr and $36.00/hr. The starting salary will be based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education, experience and overall competencies. Salary is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package.
