Your focus will be on safety, quality, cost control, and effective communication with all stakeholders.\nIn this role you will:\nLead assigned projects (10-50M+ range) to achieve cost, schedule, quality, safety, and contract performance goals\nDefine project objectives, policies, and performance standards in alignment with company and contract requirements\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams\nDevelop and manage construction schedules and milestones\nMonitor, report, and forecast progress, labour productivity, budget, and costs\nEnsure compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and contractual obligations\nPrepare project estimates and negotiate scope changes as needed\nDraft and manage contracts, including revisions and additions\nEnsure timely completion of monthly cost forecasting, productivity reports, and project documentation\nIdentify and correct areas of risk within work/contracts/WIP\nCoordinate materials, equipment, and workforce resources\nWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM\nWe’re looking for a proven leader with the skills and experience to deliver exceptional results. Here’s what will set you up for success in this role:\nA Degree or Diploma in one or more of the following: Construction Project Management\n Electrical Engineering \nOR Red Seal Electrical Journeyman certification\n\nThe following certifications/designations are considered an asset: P.Eng. designation, PMP designation, Gold Seal Certification, Construction safety certifications\n5+ years as a Project Manager in the construction industry with a contractor\n5-10 years working in the electrical industry with direct experience in large-scale electrical utility projects\nProven experience in estimation, strategic procurement, and negotiation\nExperience commissioning, integration and applying QA/QC to projects\nExperience with medium and high voltage utility work, roadway lighting, traffic signals and substations is considered an asset\nExperience with P3 and/or design-build projects is considered an asset\nExperience in WWTP projects is considered an asset\nSKILLS, ABILITIES & OTHER REQUIREMENTS\nTo excel in this role, you should bring a strong mix of technical expertise, leadership, and organizational skills, including:\nContract management and risk identification\nConstruction scheduling, planning, and execution\nAbility to interpret project designs and specifications\nApplicable local and provincial labour codes\nStrong organization and time management skills\nDemonstrated leadership abilities \nOrganization, time management, and cross team collaboration\nTechnical Proficiency in: MS Office Suite, Microsoft Project (required), JD Edwards or an Oracle-based ERP system\nKnowledge of Procore Construction Management Software\n Willing and able to travel to sites around Vancouver Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island\n Valid BC Driver’s License\nThe expected salary range for this role is between $95,000 and $125,000. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package.
