The Project Coordinator is located on site and typically reports directly to the Project Manager.\nProject Coordinators support the Project Manager in the successful planning, organization, direction, control and evaluation of assigned project(s) from start to finish and in accordance with schedule, specifications and budget. Their primary focus is safety, planning, monitoring progress, scheduling, quality, cost management, estimating, reporting, and managing project change under the direction of senior leadership.\nDuties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:\nAssist the Project Manager on projects to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy and contract specifications are met\nAssist the Project Manager on field reports to ensure the reports are submitted to the Clients on time and invoices are processed on a monthly basis\nComply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures\nAssist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelines\nComplete quantity take-offs from construction drawings, track and update as-built quantities and field verify when required\nAssist in preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors\nAssist with project cost tracking, forecasting, budget analysis and evaluation of project changes and their impacts \nAssist in developing and implementing quality control programs\nBuild and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships\nPrepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients\nCoordinate trades and subcontractors\nDocument control\nPurchase supplies and materials as required to complete projects\nWHAT YOU CAN OFFER\nDegree or Diploma in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering \n3-5 years of Project Coordination experience supporting utility construction projects \nExperience working on Overhead and/or underground electrical distribution projects is preferred \nSKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS\nContract management and administration \nConstruction scheduling, planning, and execution\nBlueprint and drawing interpretation \nAbility to read and interpret electrical, civil and construction drawings and specifications. \nAbility to understand financial reports, budgets, forecasts and cost tracking metrics\nStrong organizational and time management skills \nProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)\nExperience with JD Edwards or an Oracle-based ERP system is considered an asset.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills \nStrong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking \nAbility to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment \nValid Ontario “G” Driver’s License is required\nThe expected salary range for this role is between $60,000 - $80,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package.
