The Project Manager is located on site and reports directly to the Project Director.\nProject Managers plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate assigned project(s) from start to finish and in accordance with schedule, specifications and budget. Their primary focus is safety, planning, monitoring progress, scheduling, quality, costs management, estimating, reporting, and managing project change under the direction of senior leadership. Duties and responsibilities include:\nProvide leadership for assigned project in regards to cost, schedule, quality, safety, and contract performance\nEstablish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards as per company policy and contract specifications\nEstablish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders including Black & McDonald team members, clients, consultants, joint venture partners, trades, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and the community, while keeping them informed of relevant information\nPlan, prepare, monitor, and manage construction schedule and milestones\nEnsure work is performed in compliance with applicable standards - ie. HSE regulations, company policies and procedures, and contract requirements\nMonitor and report on progress, labour productivity, work outcomes, budget, cost, and forecast\nPrepare and submit project estimates and price/negotiate all changes in scope as required\nPrepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants\nReview work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies\nEnsure material and equipment are available to tradespersons\nEnsure monthly cost forecasting and checklists are completed accurately and on time\nEnsure accurate productivity reports are completed weekly.\nCOMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS\nCommunicates Effectively \nCustomer Focus\nHolds Self and Others Accountable\nProblem Solving and Innovation \nTeamwork and Collaboration\nValues and Respects Others\nCoaches and Develops \nMaximizes Business Performance and Team Effectiveness\nStrategic Perspective\nEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS\nAn education in:\nProject Management\nElectrical Engineering\nConstruction Management\nA red seal electrical journeyperson\nWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\n5+ years of Project Management experience in the unionized construction company working on large-scale electrical ICI projects\n SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS\nIntermediate knowledge and understanding of:\nConstruction estimation, scheduling, planning, and execution\nProject design interpretation\nEstablished division practices, procedures and techniques\nBusiness operations processes\nOrganization and time management\nIntermediate user of:\nMS Office (Word, Excel, Project)\nUse of Accubid is considered an asset\nJD Edwards or an Oracle-based ERP system is an asset\n The expected salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $110,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package.
