This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience with semiconductor processing, metrology tools, and cleanroom operations while contributing to our ongoing research and development activities.\nWhat You’ll Do\nPrepare samples for ALD and characterization runs.\n\nPerform routine thin-film measurements using spectroscopic ellipsometry, Raman spectroscopy, optical microscopy and AFM\n\nSupport senior ALD process engineers with setting up tool test runs and recording operational parameters\n\nHandle delicate samples and cleanroom equipment in accordance with established safety and quality procedures\n\nDocument characterization results and upload structured metrology data to central repositories\n\nOrganize measurement data and prepare clear summaries of film-characterization results\n\nHelp establish and maintain an inventory system for chemicals and precursors\n\nWhat You Bring\nCurrent enrolment in a bachelor’s or master’s program in materials science, physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related field, ideally in the last year.\n\nA basic understanding of thin-film characterization methods such as ellipsometry, Raman spectroscopy, optical microscopy or AFM\n\nStrong attention to detail and the ability to handle delicate samples accurately\n\nAn interest in semiconductor processing and a willingness to learn cleanroom protocols\n\nBasic proficiency in data logging, documentation and data visualization using Excel or Python\n\nGood communication skills in English\n\nThe ability to work effectively and reliably within a laboratory team\n\nWhat We Offer\nHands-on experience with ALD processes, thin-film characterization and semiconductor laboratory operations\n\nPractical training in cleanroom safety, sample preparation and metrology equipment\n\nThe opportunity to work with spectroscopic ellipsometry, Raman spectroscopy, optical microscopy and AFM\n\nClose collaboration with experienced ALD process engineers in our FabONE facility in Aachen\n\nThe opportunity to contribute directly to the organization and efficiency of an active research and development laboratory\n\nOur work culture\nPeople Over Processes.
