{"id":1023325,"url":"https://alion.io/job/black-semiconductor-equipment-process-development-technician-fmd","title":"Technician (f/m/d)","company":{"id":668883,"name":"Black Semiconductor","domain":"blacksemi.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/blacksemi","size_band":"51-200","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Ashby","truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":81,"open_postings":8,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":0.75,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":53,"computed_at":"2026-10-23T05:54:15Z"}},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":null,"employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"hybrid","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Aachen, Germany"],"countries":["DE"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":29000,"max_usd":65000,"period":"year","method":"role_country_seniority_unknown","sample_n":1156},"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":true,"technologies":[{"name":"CMP","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-09-18T08:22:56Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-09-18","last_verified_at":"2026-10-23T14:47:44Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":35,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":35},"description":"The Role\nBlack Semiconductor is seeking a hands-on and flexible Equipment & Process Development Technician to support the installation, qualification, operation, maintenance, process development, and ramp-up of our FabONE semiconductor manufacturing facility.\nYou will work across CMP, wet cleaning, plating, and Graphene processes and equipment, supporting both R&D and manufacturing activities.\nThis is a flexible, multi-functional role where responsibilities will adapt to business priorities and FabONE needs.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, startup, operation, and maintenance.\n\nPerform preventive/corrective maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and equipment recovery.\n\nAct as a first responder for equipment alarms, abnormal conditions, and OOC events.\n\nMonitor tool health, equipment performance, and process conditions to maintain high uptime and reliability.\n\nSupport CMP, wet cleaning, plating, Graphene and Chemical supply systems.\n\nManage critical consumables such as CMP pads, diamond disks, filters, PVA brushes, plating consumables, and chemicals.\n\nSupport process development, engineering experiments, process qualification, characterization, and optimization.\n\nSupport Graphene transfer, wet processing, patterning, equipment operation, and process development.\n\nAssist Process and Equipment Engineers with tool tuning, recipe optimization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.\n\nCollect and document equipment/process data and maintain accurate maintenance, qualification, and process records.\n\nSupport development and improvement of SOPs, PM procedures, and equipment standards.\n\nFollow all cleanroom, chemical handling, EHS, and contamination-control requirements.\n\nWork cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, EHS, R&D, and equipment suppliers.\n\nSupport other technical activities as required based on business and FabONE priorities.\n\nYour Qualifications\nTechnical degree, apprenticeship, technician certification, or equivalent practical experience.\n\n3-5+ years of semiconductor equipment, process, manufacturing, or technician experience.\n\nHands-on experience in one or more areas: CMP, wet cleaning, plating, wafer processing, equipment engineering, process development, or chemical systems.\n\nStrong hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance experience.\n\nBasic knowledge of pumps, valves, filters, tubing, sensors, motors, vacuum, chemical/fluid delivery, and equipment controls.\n\nExperience with process development, equipment qualification, calibration, or optimization is a plus.\n\nGraphene or advanced materials processing experience is a plus.\n\nAbility to learn and support multiple equipment platforms and technologies.\n\nStrong problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.\n\nEnglish proficiency required; German is a plus.\n\nWillingness to work hands-on in a cleanroom and support a fast-paced startup/new-fab environment.\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nSafe, reliable, and available equipment.\n\nFast and effective response to equipment and process issues.\n\nStable and qualified CMP, Cleaning, Plating, and Graphene processes.\n\nStrong support for R&D, engineering, and manufacturing activities.\n\nContinuous improvement in uptime, reliability, process stability, quality, and efficiency.\n\nFlexibility to support changing FabONE and business priorities.\n\nOur work culture\nPeople Over Processes.
