Our global team works with cutting-edge technology to make a difference around the world and prides itself on being people-first, customer-focused and fun.\nAs an assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the assembly, integration and test of satellites and their subsystems, as well as creation and documentation of test equipment, such as automated racks. You will be responsible for authoring and maintaining test procedures and supporting troubleshooting efforts during production. You’ll work closely with system and hardware engineers to help define requirements and provide feedback to design engineers for test/design for manufacturing (DFT/DFM). \nThis position reports to the Director, Production and is based out of our Tukwila, WA office. This is onsite position expected to be in the office five days a week.\nResponsibilities:\nResponsible for satellite and subsystem testing, including the design, development, and execution of test setups, instrumentation, and documentation.\nCollaborate with engineering disciplines and program management to ensure tests align with requirements, schedules, and quality standards.\nMaintain existing automated and manual test equipment and lead the development and implementation of new test setups and/or fixtures. \nMaintain existing satellite and subsystem test harnessing and lead the development and implementation of new harnessing.\nExecute satellite-level tests, support troubleshooting efforts, and resolve stoppages during testing. \nCreate work instructions and training documentation for satellite assemblies and subsystems.\nAid in process improvement projects to streamline test documentation and data, configuration control, and integration operations to optimize test and production quality and efficiency. \nOther job-related duties as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nA minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a production environment, preferably with space hardware.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings and create harness schematics. \nDemonstrated experience with integration, end-to-end testing, and operations.\nStrong understanding of satellite and satellite subsystems.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team to achieve team and company goals.\nUnwavering attention to detail in a hands-on environment with valuable hardware assets.\nAbility to occasionally travel domestically and internationally to support launch campaigns. \nMust be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Person. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in high reliability, safety critical, or regulated environments.\nExperience with Plex or another similar MRP/ERP system. \nExperience with software scheduling and tasking tools, specifically Jira.\nFamiliarity with software version control management tools, specifically Git.\nFamiliarity with Python and Bash.\nLife at BlackSky for full-time benefits eligible employees includes:\nMedical, dental, vision, disability, group term life and AD&D, voluntary life and AD&D insuranceBlackSky pays 100% of employee-only premiums for medical, dental and vision and contributes $100/month for out-of-pocket expenses!\n\n15 days of PTO, 11 Company holidays, four Floating Holidays (pro-rated based on hire date), one day of paid volunteerism leave per year, parental leave and more\n401(k) pre-tax and Roth deferral options with employer match\nFlexible Spending Accounts\nEmployee Stock Purchase Program\nEmployee Assistance and Travel Assistance Programs\nEmployer matching donations\nProfessional development\nMac or PC? The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education.
