Our global team works with cutting-edge technology to make a difference around the world and prides itself on being people-first, customer-focused, and fun.\nWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Reporting Manager to support the preparation and filing of our quarterly and annual SEC reports. The ideal candidate is highly focused, knowledgeable in U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, and ready to dive into the financial reporting processes of our rapidly growing company. This role reports to the Senior Director, Financial Reporting & Systems and provides support across a wide range of technical accounting and reporting activities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work out of our Herndon, VA location in a hybrid capacity.\nResponsibilities: \nPrepare monthly and quarterly consolidated financial reporting packages, including Balance Sheets, Statements of Operations, and Statements of Cash Flows.\nAssist in drafting quarterly and annual footnote disclosures and Management’s Discussion & Analysis (MD&A).\nCreate and maintain workpapers and supporting documentation for all SEC filings containing financial information (including 10-K, 10-Q, proxy statements, and 8-K filings).\nSupport Investor Relations in developing the quarterly earnings release.\nCoordinate and address comments from legal, finance, management, and external auditors throughout SEC filing cycles.\nAssist with maintaining and updating XBRL tagging for all relevant filings.\nComplete quarterly and annual GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists.\nPrepare responses to requests from external auditors and coordinate the audit support process.\nAssist with journal entries related to non-recurring and complex accounting transactions.\nSupport SOX controls and the financial reporting sub-certification process.\nConduct technical accounting research related to significant transactions and new accounting standards.\nServe as an administrator for OneStream consolidations.\nMaintain and update BlackSky’s accounting policies.\nAssess accounting implications of new accounting pronouncements and assist in implementing required changes across the accounting organization and broader company.\nPerform other accounting and finance duties as needed.\nComplete other job-related responsibilities as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications:\nA bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required.\nCandidates must have a currently active CPA license.\nA minimum of five years of experience in public company audit, financial reporting and/or technical accounting.\nExperience in Public Accounting.\nAdvanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.\nExperience with Workiva.\nStrong analytical skills and sound business judgement.\nProven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.\nStrong time management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.\nCollaborative mindset with strong communication skills and a commitment to high-quality work.\nMust be eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance. \nPreferred Qualifications: \nExperience in the SaaS, satellite/space, or related technology industry.\nExperience with OneStream, Deltek Costpoint, and/or other similar ERP or EPM system.\nLife at BlackSky for full-time benefits-eligible employees includes:\nMedical, dental, vision, disability, group term life and AD&D, voluntary life and AD&D insuranceBlackSky pays 100% of employee-only premiums for medical, dental and vision and contributes $100/month for out-of-pocket expenses!\n\n15 days of PTO, 11 Company holidays, four Floating Holidays (pro-rated based on hire date), one day of paid volunteerism leave per year, parental leave and more\n401(k) pre-tax and Roth deferral options with employer match\nFlexible Spending Accounts\nEmployee Stock Purchase Program\nEmployee Assistance and Travel Assistance Programs\nEmployer matching donations\nProfessional development\nAwesome swag\nThe anticipated base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education.
