Our global team works with cutting-edge technology to make a difference around the world and prides itself on being people-first, customer-focused and fun.\nThe Senior Software Infrastructure Engineer is a hands-on individual contributor role that reports to the Manager, Software Test & Infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end build systems, configuration, CI/CD pipelines, and internal tool integration. This role also contributes heavily to internal tools including device emulators and emulation environments. Additionally, you’ll contribute to software requirements and test plan support for those capabilities and features. As a senior member of the team, you’ll make a large business impact across multiple critical programs from design to execution. You’ll collaborate across our embedded systems group and work closely with other cross-functional and program team members.\nThe preferred location is Tukwila, WA with the ability to work in the Tukwila office 1-2 days a week but we may be open to strong remote candidates.\nResponsibilities:\nDeploy and manage build systems, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS.\nDrive work to timely completion using task management tools like Jira in an Agile-like environment; participate and lead in status and standup meetings, sprint planning, tasking, etc.\nCollaborate with other ESG software team members and other cross-functional engineers from multiple disciplines to deliver mission-critical software infrastructure and tools that are on-time and high quality.\nEnsure that adequate documentation, test, inspection, and analysis is delivered and performed to verify compliance with requirements and other goals.\nExecute and provide feedback for flight software design, development, unit tests and releases processes.\nOther job-related duties as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience\nAt least six (6) years of experience delivering and maintaining commercial/embedded.software in a production environment.\n\nExpertise in engineering clean and maintainable Python and Bash code.\nExperience with version control and continuous integration.\nExpertise with developer took chains, build tools and pipeline, such as Git, GitLab, GitLab CI, Jenkins, JIRA.\nExpertise working with Linux toolchains and environments (Gnu toolchain, QEMU, Buildroot, Yocto).\nExperience working in Agile/SCRUM environment.\nProven experience delivering products on time and on budget.\nExcellent root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nDemonstrated ability to work across teams, skill sets, communication in a diverse environment.\nMust be able to work with minimal supervision.\nDue to program requirements, this role requires US citizenship. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience testing and verifying embedded software\nBonus if experience building or maintaining hardware for embedded software testing\nExperience programming in Python\nExperience programming in C/C++\nBonus for ability to debug C/C++ and perform fault analysis\nExperience maintaining CI/CD systems, or in maintaining infrastructure as code\nExperience with QEMU and device emulation\nExperience with buildroot or Yocto\nLife at BlackSky for full-time US benefits eligible employees includes:\nMedical, dental, vision, disability, group term life and AD&D, voluntary life and AD&D insurance\nBlackSky pays 100% of employee-only premiums for medical, dental and vision and contributes $100/month for out-of-pocket expenses!\n15 days of PTO, 11 Company holidays, four Floating Holidays (pro-rated based on hire date), one day of paid volunteerism leave per year, parental leave and more\n401(k) pre-tax and Roth deferral options with employer match\nFlexible Spending Accounts\nEmployee Stock Purchase Program\nEmployee Assistance and Travel Assistance Programs\nEmployer matching donations\nProfessional development\nMac or PC? The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education.
