We’ve grown 20x so far in 2026.\n\nWe operate thousands of bare-metal machines across multiple regions, regularly schedule 300k+ vCPUs concurrently, and run a petabyte-scale Ceph cluster that we manage ourselves.\n\nWe’ve raised $125M from Seed to Series C, led by Sequoia, Google Ventures (GV) & Peak XV Partners, and we’re intentionally building a small, but exceptional team.\n\nBlacksmith was founded by a team with deep systems and scaling experience, including building search/ads infrastructure at Faire, and operating large distributed systems at Cockroach Labs. Our GTM is led by Jon Boyer, formerly Head of Sales at Zapier.\n\nWe're now extending the same CI infrastructure into a broader platform: running agent sandboxes at scale and building our own background coding agent on top of it.\n\nOur Developer Marketer\nAt Blacksmith, we ship a lot: new products, new features, and a steady stream of engineering work worth showing off. But the more we build and the faster we move, the wider the gap between what Blacksmith can do and what developers know it can do. Closing that gap is the job.\nWe're looking for a Developer Marketer who is equally at home in a codebase and a content calendar to own how developers find, understand, and adopt Blacksmith. You'll be embedded with our engineering team, with a front-row seat to what we’re building and why it matters. You’ll also work closely with the founders and growth team to shape how we launch and how developers discover us.\nWhat you'll own\n\nDocumentation as a product\nFor many developers, our docs are their first real impression of our products.\nKeep them accurate and informative as our products evolve, and cut anything that doesn't earn its place.\n\nRedefine how they look and read.\n\nMake them as useful to coding agents as to the people using them.\n\nLaunch machinery\nWe have an exciting roadmap of products and features shipping rapidly, and each one deserves to land.\nPlan and run launches of every size, from new products to new features, moving fast without cutting corners.\n\nBuild a repeatable playbook for each launch day and beyond: the announcement, media kit, social posts, email blasts, customer communications, and follow-up content in the weeks thereafter (e.g., real metrics and customer quotes).\n\nHelp enable our sales team to speak to what's new as soon as it ships.\n\nTrack engagement and adoption metrics after a launch to keep refining the strategy over time.\n\nSocial media presence\nPublish a regular and engaging stream of content on X, LinkedIn, etc.\n\nIdentify the most interesting work our engineers are doing and turn it into something worth sharing.\n\nCreate high-quality and engaging short videos and graphics.\n\nJoin the conversation: engage with the developer ecosystem on our socials, building brand awareness and bringing back product feedback to our team.\n\nTechnical writing and customer stories\nHelp our engineers convey what they’re building in written form and edit until the message lands.\n\nCollaborate with Growth to identify and fill gaps in topics where developers and AI search can't find us yet.\n\nSurface insights from real customer experiences and results to feed back into our messaging, content, and proof for what we’re building.\n\nWhat this role isn't\nA sales-materials job (i.e., not primarily pitch decks and sales enablement).\n\nPaid, brand or demand-gen marketing.\n\nCommunity management or events.\n\nWriting a strategy doc and relying on others to build and ship it.\n\nYou're a good fit if you\nAre technical. You've built software and can read a PR or design doc and explain why it matters. Some of the best people for this role are developers seeking a more creative outlet or marketers who code.\n\nCan deeply understand our product and roadmap well enough to demo it from memory.\n\nHave shipped things that resonate with developers: docs, launches, videos, threads, posts.\n\nWrite engaging and convincing copy with a point of view (and like a developer speaking to developers).\n\nAre “chronically” online and know what's trending on developer X and Hacker News.\n\nHave a high motor.
