For large call center operators, each percentage point of resolution Bland drives is worth $500K-$1M+ per year in savings. Bland's biggest technical differentiator: they own and operate the entire voice AI stack in-house - transcription, LLM, and TTS - rather than relying on third-party API providers. This is a deliberate architectural choice that enables the uptime guarantees, data security standards, and customization depth that regulated industries require.\nWhy This Role Matters\nWe are roughly 80 people today and operate with a very lean internal team. There is currently one person in finance. This role exists because the company needs someone who can help build the financial and operational foundation as we grow.\nThis is not the most glamorous role and it is not narrowly defined. You will do a lot of everything. The work is foundational, sometimes repetitive, and often unstructured. It is also one of the best ways to learn how a startup actually works.\nRole Overview\nDay to day, this role requires strong organization and comfort working in low context environments. Often, you will be given problems, not instructions. You will regularly need to figure out what the right next step even is before executing.\nMuch of your time will be spent supporting compensation plans and commissions, building reporting and dashboards, analyzing bookings and revenue trends, helping with budgeting and forecasting, and improving the systems the company uses to make decisions. You’ll partner closely with accounting, sales, and operations to ensure leadership has accurate data and actionable insights.\nYou will work across teams and functions and will regularly interact with leadership. Because the finance function is largely unbuilt, there is direct visibility into how decisions are made and how the business operates. You will see the full picture earlier than most people in their careers.\nOver time, as you build trust and ownership, this role can expand significantly. You may take on larger projects, help define processes, or move into more strategic finance or operations work.\nIdeal Candidate Profile / Role Requirements\nThis role is for someone early in their career who wants responsibility and learning over polish and prestige.\nYou should have some exposure to finance, accounting, operations, consulting, or a related field, but deep experience is not required. What matters more is that you care, you are capable, and you follow through.\nYou should be comfortable with ambiguity. Startups are chaotic. Things change. Systems are imperfect. You should be energized by that rather than frustrated by it.\nYou should have strong problem solving instincts and be willing to do unglamorous work well. The people who succeed here are the ones who treat small details seriously and take pride in making things work.\nMust-Have Experience\nBachelors degree in Finance, Economics, or a related track\nStrong financial foundation, including comfort in Power BI, Excel, and other tools\nHighly self-directed - does not need heavy management or a fully built playbook to be effective\nNice-to-Have Experience\n1+ years experience in IB (Tech focus preferred), in a finance role at a high growth start-up, or an equivalent role\nExperience with accounting, FP&A, and revenue recognition\nExperience with M&A or strategic financial projects\nCompensation & Benefits\nSalary range is 80,000 to 135,000 dollars depending on experience.\n\nEquity range is 50,000 to 150,000 dollars.\n\nHealth insurance, dental, vision, and a 401K is provided.\n\nUnlimited PTO.\n\nThis is a role for someone with energy, curiosity, strong technical instincts, and a real give a f*ck factor who wants to build something real and grow fast while doing it.\nThis is a full-time, in-person role based in San Francisco.
