Through technology, innovation and operational excellence, we help our clients deliver outstanding services to their customers.\nTo support our continued growth, we are expanding our international IT Operations team and are looking for a Release Manager to join our Porto office.\nWhat will you do?\nThe Release Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, governance, operational coordination, and successful delivery of software, infrastructure, platform, and security-related releases across the organization and its strategic suppliers. The role ensures that releases are delivered predictably, securely, and with minimal business disruption while maintaining compliance, operational stability, and customer satisfaction. The Release Manager acts as the central point of coordination between Product, Engineering, Operations, Architecture, Security, Program Management, and external partners to enable efficient and controlled delivery throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn and coordinate end-to-end releases across systems and suppliers\n\nManage the release calendar, ensuring alignment with business priorities, project roadmaps, and operational readiness\n\nLead release execution, including critical deployment windows, Friday evening releases, and Microsoft security patch deployments\n\nAct as the central point of coordination between Product, Engineering, Operations, Security, Architecture, and external partners\n\nMonitor release progress, dependencies, risks, and issues, ensuring timely communication and escalation when needed\n\nEnsure compliance with release, change, testing, and governance processes to safeguard stability and quality\n\nCoordinate environment availability and readiness across development, test, acceptance, and production environments\n\nDrive continuous improvement of release management practices, deployment automation, and delivery processes\n\nPrepare and communicate release plans, release notes, outcomes, and lessons learned to stakeholders\n\nFoster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and operational excellence throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)\n\nRequirements\nWhat do you need for this position ?\nBachelor's or Master's degree\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience in Release Management, Change Management, IT Delivery, Project Management, or a similar coordination role\n\nExperience working in complex IT environments with multiple stakeholders and suppliers\n\nUnderstanding of software development, testing, infrastructure, and release management processes\n\nExperience coordinating releases across multiple teams and systems\n\nExperience within financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries is considered an advantage\n\nStrong planning, organizational, and stakeholder management skills\n\nAbility to manage risks, dependencies, and competing priorities in a dynamic environment\n\nStrong communication and facilitation skills\n\nFlexibility to coordinate releases outside standard office hours as part of a shared rotation across locations; overtime is compensated in hours elsewhere in the week\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English\n\nNice to have:\nTechnical background with the ability to collaborate effectively with Product Teams, Platform Teams and Suppliers\n\nKnowledge of Agile, Lean and continuous improvement methodologies\n\nExperience in financial services, fintech or other regulated industries\n\nWhat do we offer you?\nWorking at Quion means joining a young, ambitious, and dynamic organization with open communication and a strong team spirit.
