Through technology, innovation and operational excellence, we help our clients deliver outstanding services to their customers.\nTo support our continued growth, we are expanding our international IT Infrastructure team and are looking for a SQL Server DBA to join our Porto office.\nWhat will you do?\nThe SQL Server DBA is responsible for the design, strategic management and continued development of the SQL Server and Azure SQL infrastructure. You safeguard the performance, security and scalability of the data environment and lead migrations and innovation in cloud technology, automation and governance. You act as the key liaison between database suppliers and the business.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and maintain scalable, secure and highly available database platforms\n\nLead cloud database initiatives, including Azure SQL and managed database services\n\nImplement disaster recovery, monitoring and cost optimization strategies\n\nAutomate database deployment and management using infrastructure-as-code tools\n\nEnsure database security through encryption, auditing and access controls\n\nSupport data governance, compliance and security remediation activities\n\nProvide technical ownership of database platforms and standards\n\nReview database designs and SQL code to ensure quality and performance\n\nCoach colleagues and share knowledge on database technologies and best practices\n\nDrive continuous improvement of database architecture, operations and reliability\n\nRequirements\nWhat do you need for this position ?\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Information Technology or a related field\n\n5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in complex IT environments\n\nStrong knowledge of Azure SQL, Azure networking, security and automation\n\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300) or equivalent\n\nExperience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, PowerShell and DevOps tooling\n\nExperience migrating SQL Server environments to Azure\n\nExperience with database monitoring, backup and recovery strategies\n\nExperience with performance tuning and query optimization\n\nKnowledge of Identity and Access Management, including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID\n\nExperience with hybrid Azure SQL and SQL Server environments\n\nHands-on experience with SQL Server Management Studio, Azure Portal, PowerShell and Azure CLI\n\nFamiliarity with Agile and DevOps ways of working\n\nAbility to independently design, implement, manage and monitor database environments\n\nStrong understanding of English, with a minimum B2 level\n\nNice to have:\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)\n\nKnowledge of T-SQL and additional automation tools\n\nExperience leading technical discussions and providing guidance on database architecture and platform challenges\n\nDutch language skills are considered a very strong advantage\n\nWhat do we offer you?\nWorking at Quion means joining a young, ambitious, and dynamic organization with open communication and a strong team spirit.
