Head of Product, Home Lending

The Role

You'll own product for Blend's home lending business, our largest and most strategic product line. This is a full P&L-minded product leadership role: you set the vision and roadmap, run the operating rhythm, and are accountable for what we commit to customers and whether we deliver it.

You'll lead a team of 7 product managers and product owners across four areas: Flagship (our core mortgage and home equity experience), Rapid (our fast-deploy home equity and refi products), Verifications (credit, income, and asset), and Documents & Delivery (disclosures, docs, Docs AI).

Your customers are among the largest financial institutions in the country, including several top-10 US banks, major regional banks, and the biggest credit unions. These are not logos on a slide; they're weekly working relationships with named commitments attached, and they'll know your name.

What You'll Do

• Own the home lending roadmap. Balance a portfolio that spans new Rapid implementations, flagship customer commitments, LOS integration rebuilds, compliance work, and strategic bets like Docs AI. Make the trade-offs explicit and defensible.
• Run the commitment engine. We think in terms of what we committed, where we are, and what the gap is. You'll own that discipline for home lending: a single source of truth for customer commitments, honest status, and a say/do ratio the exec team can trust.
• Scale the Rapid business. Rapid is our growth motion, with a committed pipeline of major-lender implementations and more deals coming. You'll partner with sales and engineering to industrialize how we scope, price, and deliver these.
• Lead strategic account relationships. Be the senior product voice for our largest home lending customers. Turn enhancement backlogs into coherent multi-quarter plans, and show up personally when it matters.
• Shape the platform transition. Home lending will be the proving ground for our Mosaic platform migration. You'll co-own the strategy for what moves, when, and how we protect customers through it.
• Build with AI, not just talk about it. We expect AI acceleration to be factored into how your team writes specs, estimates work, and ships. You'll model that.
• Develop the team. You inherit a strong bench of PMs and POs plus incoming senior talent. Grow them, and hire what's missing.

What You Bring

• 10+ years in product, with 4+ leading product teams; you've owned a product line, not just a feature area
• Deep mortgage or home equity domain expertise; you know what TRID, MISMO, an LOS, and a PPE are without looking them up, and you've shipped into that world
• Experience with enterprise B2B customers where the roadmap is negotiated, committed, and audited; you're credible in front of a bank's EVP
• A delivery-first operating style: comfortable with dev-day estimates, staffing math, and being accountable for dates
• Evidence you build well with AI: tools, agents, or AI-accelerated development in your recent work
• Low ego, high ownership; you run toward escalations

Nice to Have

• Experience with major LOS ecosystems (Encompass, Empower, MSP, or NetOxygen)
• Experience taking a product through a platform migration or re-architecture
• Fintech or regulated-industry scale-up experience

Compensation:

• Base Salary Range: $205,000 - $241,000 (This applies to full time hires. Final offer determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to function, level, geographic location, job related knowledge, skills, and experience.)
• Bonus (if applicable):  Eligibility is contingent upon both company performance against established goals and achievement of individual performance objectives.
• Equity :  Meaningful Restricted Stock Units in public company stock (NYSE: BLND) so you share in Blend’s long-term growth and success.
