No two days are the same.\nMō te Tūranga | About the Role\nAs a Business Development Manager within Growth Sectors, you’ll play a key role in bringing BNZ’s Growth Sectors strategy to life. Combining strategic thinking, commercial acumen and strong relationship management, you’ll identify and progress opportunities that create meaningful value for BNZ and our customers.\nWorking alongside Growth Sectors leaders and our nationwide network of relationship bankers, you’ll connect people, ideas and opportunities-helping to originate, develop and execute initiatives that support the growth of New Zealand businesses and BNZ’s business.\nWhat are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?\nBuild trusted relationships with key external partners, industry leaders and stakeholders to strengthen BNZ’s presence across our Growth Sectors.\nSupport the delivery of sector strategies and multiple project streams, coordinating closely with Growth Sectors’ Heads of roles and other internal and external stakeholders.\nHelp embed new strategies and initiatives across the Bank by bringing the right people together and building support for change.\nContribute to the design and delivery of strategic projects, propositions and policy initiatives.\nIdentify business development opportunities through internal and external networks, while supporting thought leadership and sector-related content.\nPartner with frontline bankers to originate, develop and execute financing opportunities and strengthen client relationships.\nWhat attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?\nYou will have a strong work ethic and be a self-starter. You will be a confident communicator and natural relationship builder who enjoys working across a broad network. Curious, commercially minded and comfortable navigating complexity, you’ll bring:\nAt least three years’ experience within the finance or business community, with proven relationship management and business development capability.\nStrong commercial acumen and an understanding of financial services, credit analysis and the drivers of business success.\nConfidence presenting plans, recommendations and outcomes to senior leaders and large groups.\nA collaborative, motivated and proactive approach, as well as the ability to bring together information from multiple sources and turn it into clear, practical insights.\nA passion for helping New Zealand businesses grow and the ability to work effectively across cultures.\nExperience working across large organisations and with external agencies or suppliers to deliver successful outcomes.\nWhat is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?\nThis is an important role within a strategically focused team with significant exposure across BNZ and the wider business community.
