That uniqueness shapes the culture of belonging we are so proud of.\nThe Role\nFlutter Technology are recruiting a cloud engineer to drive the implementation, automation, and operation of our AWS cloud platform. The platform will underpin the global services consumed by the groups well-known betting brands.\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to shape the technology choices across Flutter‘s cloud hosting platforms, working with all brands across the group to migrate and modernise their services, deliver technology to meet their needs, and promote knowledge sharing across the engineering community. The role will contribute to the evaluation and selection of AWS services, code and configuration management tooling and the variety of components required to achieve our group strategic objectives.\nYou must be effective at articulating technology requirements, promoting cloud enablement, migrations and the methodologies required to reduce risk and achieve desired outcomes. You should be comfortable working with cross functional global teams in dynamic organisations, as the role will have interdependencies with teams in AWS, our partners, and our own engineering teams across various functions in various brands.\nThe right candidate will have experience working with enterprise organisations on large scale migration/modernisation transformation projects. This will have involved a customer-obsessed and collaborative approach, coupled with a strong technical understanding to provide confidence and answer questions, an ability to engage and help crystallise business benefits of migrations, demonstrate an excellent technical understanding of cloud solutions, and a passion for helping to transform using cloud technologies.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nBuild and operate a secure, performant, and cost-effective AWS Cloud Platform.\n\nAutomate system deployment and operations using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tooling.\n\nMaintain source code and artefact repositories.\n\nWrite and review platform code, offering constructive feedback to ensure code quality.\n\nEnable and support engineering teams with the adoption of cloud services.\n\nTriage incidents, problems, and risks impacting Flutter cloud services.\n\nWrite and maintain appropriate technical documentation.\n\nDefine, document, support, and approve LLDs for Flutter cloud services.\n\nSupport cloud architecture and function leads with developing the cloud technology roadmap and strategy.\n\nAct as a trusted SME offering advice and knowledge sharing to the broader technology team and internal customers.\n\nCreate and drive adoption of standard operating procedures, policies, and runbooks.\n\nFacilitate the development and communication of Flutter Group standards for design, development, and deployment.\n\nLiaise with other group functions, building and maintaining relationships, and recognising opportunities for strategic collaboration.\n\nLiaise with Third Party vendors and partners.\n\nBe part of an on-call rota.\n\nWhat you’ll bring\nBuilding Support: We establish close relationships with our stakeholders, underpinned by trust, integrity, and respect. We actively listen, provide constructive feedback and help others to consider new perspectives.\n\nWe’d like you to master in\nBuilding and operating Infrastructure and Cloud platforms, ideally within highly available AWS environments.\n\nStrong network knowledge in the TCP/IP stack, Firewalls and AWS cloud Networking Services (AWS CloudWAN, DNS, AWS Network Firewalls)\n\nRelocating, rehosting, refactoring and rearchitecting services into AWS.\n\nWorking with source control management (Git, GitHub) and CI/CD Pipelines.\n\nManaging deployment assets such as AMIs, container images and artefacts.\n\nManaging Infrastructure as code using CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation.\n\nOrchestration and management of container platforms, preferably using Kubernetes.\n\nDelivering systems in security compliant environments\n\nWriting and maintaining technical documentation.\n\nSharing knowledge with your peers and across the wider engineering community.\n\nWorking in an agile environment.\n\nIncident, change, problem, and risk management.\n\nBonus points for previous software engineering experience, coding, and automation.\n\nThis is what you should have.
