This is a hands-on development role with the opportunity to guide the team’s engineering practices and mentor a junior developer.\n\nWhat you’ll do\n\nDesign and build Python applications powered by generative AI, including agents that use tools and interact with internal systems.\n\nDevelop secure integrations with the organization’s documents, email, data and applications using APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool servers.\n\nTurn new ideas into working prototypes, gather user feedback and bring promising solutions into production.\n\nMake application architecture decisions that support reliability, security and maintainability.\n\nImprove code quality through testing, code reviews, documentation and CI/CD practices.\n\nTroubleshoot production issues and implement lasting fixes.\n\nMentor a junior developer and help establish strong engineering practices for AI projects.\n\nWork directly with project stakeholders to clarify requests, manage priorities and communicate progress.\n\nProfile\n\nStrong Python software development experience, including designing, deploying and supporting production applications.\n\nHands-on experience with LLM-powered or agentic AI applications beyond the prototype stage.\n\nThe ability to take end-to-end technical ownership of an application and work independently within a small team.\n\nStrong skills in API development, system integrations, testing and code review.\n\nExperience mentoring developers, or the ability to guide others while remaining actively involved in development.\n\nThe ability to learn quickly, solve unfamiliar problems and manage changing priorities.\n\nProfessional English proficiency to collaborate with teams across Canada. French is an asset.\n\nExperience with FastAPI, Azure, LangChain or LangGraph, Claude Agent SDK, MCP servers, OAuth, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), GitHub Actions or AI-assisted development tools would be especially valuable. You do not need experience with every tool listed.
